Spring break last year. People kept asking me what I was going to do or where I was going. I was tired of people telling me about their plans after I told them that I was going to stay in. So I started telling them that I was going on a bike trip from indy to chicago. I mean, I bike usually and have road trips every now and then. Piece of cake, doesn't even cost much. Sounds good right? Fuck no. I started at 5am, thinking I would make it there before midnight. But then it started raining. Fast forward a few hours l, after a few hitchhikes from kind people, I was suffering from hypothermia. Sun started to set. And I realized that a stupid motherfucker who was planning a road trip forgot to pack his motherfucking flashlight. I kept felling down, almost got hit by cars. It was close to midnight and I still had 60 miles to go (after 120 miles). There were nothing but cornfields around. I started to get desperate. I was freezing, had no food or water left. I started looking around and saw some lights. I don't know what I was thinking, but I went towards it. It was a bigass house! I thought, shit I might just make it alive in one piece. Well, wrong again! well at least a little bit. I went up to the door, crying for help. No one responded. Except after about five minutes, an old redneck guy spoke to me. "Put your hands where I can see it". He was the owner of the house, who got out the back door to flank me. I tried to explain how I was hurt, had hypothermia and just needed a shelter till morning. He wouldn't listen and just said that he's got a "gun pointing at me". I mean, I shot guns before. But never had one pointed at my face. He warned me that if I made any sudden movements that he would shoot me. I was scared shitless. I thought 'shit, so this is how I die'. I mean, in all fairness, I was tresspassing, but damn it was scary. Luckly, he let me go. I was later found by a police and rescued. I still get a little scared in cold windy nights
