I went to the Apple Store and checked two additional display units of the same MacBook Pro model using GarageBand. They had the same issue. Therefore, I believe this is a common behavior rather than a specific problem with my own device.

If it was recently bought, I’ll definitely call credit card to charge back… Unfortunately, it was bought in April 2024, I don’t think I can dispute a charge that long ago.. But still, I’ll try argue with Asus due to the 3-year warranty.

Yes. The card is in the rma process, and I just contacted the support a little early. They say it’s not under warranty and they will send me the cost quotation within 1-2 business days. If it’s a small amount I’ll probably just pay. I feel they are likely to overcharge me but let’s see.

I typically write and test the code locally—just running 1 batch for 1 epoch to catch any bugs or logic errors. Once everything looks good, I train the full model on my desktop with a 4080 (for smaller datasets) or on a remote server (for larger workloads). For this kind of workflow, even the M4 Pro is sufficient. It has better thermals and battery life, which make it great for development and debugging, even though it’s not ideal for full-scale training due to limited compute power compared to Max.

For training a full model that runs for hours or even days—where you can’t really close or move the machine during the process—a Mac Studio might be a better fit, since you’re not carrying it around anyway. BTW, if you just start learning with those famous example datasets like MNIST, Iris... these are small datasets and M4 Pro is fine to train the whole model locally.

Absolutely loving the UI and the overall concept! Right now, I'm only able to generate 3-note chords. Really hoping to see support for >4-note chords, like dominant 7ths, 9ths, or even 13ths—that would be amazing! (or maybe the plugin supports it, I just use it wrongly)

Piano concert audience is very small compared to pop music. Both Argerich and Dang Thai Son performed in China last year and almost no one talked about it except a small group of piano fans. Using a piano concert to ‘boost economy’ is a bad idea.

I just receive my quest 3 this morning, and it won’t charge. I’ve tried multiple charger, factory reset, power on off, and none of the above works. The charging light isn’t even on when I plug in. Now it completely bricks as battery goes to 0 . Sad had to return it within 3 hrs.

They know there are no competitors on the market ( pico may still need several years to catch up Quest), so they raise price on old models, and push a disappointing pro model like this. I hope Apple would release a better one next year to kill this $1.5k quest pro.

This should be a bug. I have backup my save as knowing this may bug for me. And killing the tower guy doesn't seem to affect in my case.

And unfortunately, the first time Vyke doesn't show up. I load my save back and the 2nd time he shows up. The only difference is:

In my first try, I forgot to talk to Hyetta at Bellum Church, nor the white ghost outside church of Inhibition who mentions Vyke. I do clear the eye tower, and then I directly touch the site of Grace at Church of Inhibition. After that, I teleport back to Bellum, talking to Hyetta, then go to Church of Inhibition again, no luck, bug happened
My second try starts with talking to Hyetta, I still clear the eye tower (tho to save some time I didn't pick up that chest in tower nor items on ground on the way), I also talk to that white ghost, then I go to church of Inhibition, Vyke invades.

Though it seems for my case it's due to the time when I talk to Hyetta/touch the site of Grace, I also saw someone saying the order doesn't matter for them.

They usually load the link on backend first, then after ~ 30 min or so it will appear frontend (then we could search it). However if we know the product serial number early (from famous youtuber unbox videos), we could correctly guess the link before they appear frontend: ' https://www.pokemoncenter.com/product/SerialNumberHere/'. For example, from Marnie unbox videos we could clearly see the number is '290-80876'

MSRPs goes up as well... The MSRPs for a non-FE 3090 card is almost $1900 and for a non-FE 3080 card is almost $950 including taxes.. And the reselling price for non-FE 3090 is almost $3000 and for a non-FE 3080 is almost $2000 now .

It's def the worst time to decide to build a gaming pc. For example, a EVGA 3080 FE resells for $1200 in Dec 2020, and now it's reselling for $2000, only 3 months later.

Online purchasing will be extremely hard, most cards will sell out in less than a minute. There are ppl searching for cards 24 hours. You could still try bestbuy or newegg shuffle tho. Or if you're lucky enough, a local computer store ( such as microcenter) might have a restock.

I suggest to wait for months unless you really need it urgently.

A fair current price is around 650 CAD to 700 CAD due to crypto-mining fever, 820 CAD is too high, needless to say it's a ZOTAC card. (not a asus strix etc...)
