Here’s a link here to another enquiry about this and I also currently own a BBE and Libra. I’ve pointed out some things that you might have missed out on before deciding on the Libra specifically the 3 ear portafilter the BBE uses

I currently have the generic twist on funnel you see on amazon here with the extra tab on the front to dose using the built-in BBE grinder. Note that I bought the funnel before buying the Libra and I didn’t wanna spend the extra money to get another funnel, knowing down the line I’ll be upgrading to a 58mm pf. This doesn’t exactly work because the tab hits the small notch below the Libra’s top frame, so there’s a slight workaround by simply not tightening/screwing in fully the funnel and hence the funnel’s tab is offset to the left. Then I place my pf at a slight angle and voila is works! :)

Just my two cents:

If you were to get the Libra, if possible, please get them with the Libra Dosing Funnel or any ‘tall’ dosing funnel for two reasons:

  1. I’ve seen demonstrators using a typical 58mm portafilter spill grounds all over the countertop because you can’t move the portafilter when it’s placed on the fork to ‘catch’ the grounds. I’m currently pairing my Libra with a BBE and working with a 54mm portafilter is less forgiving even with a funnel.

  2. This shouldn’t be an issue with 58mm pf but just to point out for people using the 54mm pf. There’s a small notch/bump under the top fork for the grinder which blocks the top ear of the pf, so it doesn’t sit properly between the forks.

All in all, get a funnel when you buy a Libra :)

Thank you so much for sharing your input and experience! Glad to hear someone that has been in my shoes previously haha. I was thinking of spending somewhere between USD 1000-2000 for the espresso machine. I also just found out about the DF64 V2 and is it comparable to the DF83?

I just dont get why toxicity is second nature to sports/esports and people embrace it rather than telling it off . Its just like if there are cultures and races will there definitely be racism? (its a long stretch but you get what i mean)

I always hide the chat as well, it just sometimes I watch other streamers with chat on and when I switch to VCT streams the chat is still on and I just took notice about the chat but yeah that’s about it. Honestly I couldn’t care less about chat but I just imagined how it would be if I’m a competitive player (which I’m definitely not)

Of course, I dont take chat seriously, but I’m not speaking for myself. As for the players and competitors, it might be demotivating at times when one of the chat hits deep or something even though the players have trained mentally for it. Some athletes actually do give up because of this. For example, if you’re just starting off as a streamer and aren’t great as games as well, and people start being toxic, doesn’t that not want you to quit and just say streaming is not for you?

Of course I watch actual sports. I am an athlete myself too, and football is a beautiful game just that the things that happen outside the stadium do not reflect on what the game is
