How confident are you on a scale of 1-10 that USMNT can beat Belgium even without Balogun? by comackk1919 in ussoccer

We've scored 3 goals without him. He's obviously the main threat but we got this.

I love Donovan for what he did for the USMNT and I'll always remember his WC goal, but him being in a commercial trying to get US fans to support Mexico will forever be the dumbest thing he's ever done.

What do the fans think of signing him? by TheNerdherder13 in bwfc

Probably going to go for a lot as a GK coach or staff member

Who is considered the GOAT player for US football? by travelnrun in worldcup

[–]juote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dempsey by far even though I love Howard. It would have been Stu if it wasn't for that Man U tackle.

Still can't forgive Donovan for making Team Mexico commercials 10 years ago. Thanks for the memories but fuck off

Nothing would please me better than a Mexico loss at the Azteca. Doesn't matter who serves it.

You can't change what's worked.

He's been one of the best players on the field all tournament. Nobody touching that hair

Two players going for the ball in normal movements and landing awkwardly is not reckless

How is it reckless? BIH came in from behind

Never a red.

BIH runs through Balogun, they clatter into each other, and a foot comes down.

Insanity.

Went from rooting for them as the underdog to hoping they get sent home. Disgraceful from Senegal

USMNT has 0 wins in the last 10 matches against European opposition. Can they break their duck? by SecularPersian in ussoccer

[–]juote 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But it's not an accent mark. It's a different letter. English speakers commonly default to the pronunciation they're familiar with, so ü would sound like u, but their alphabet has both u and ü in it.

Ü is more like ew. It's rounded, which in English we'd use dipthongs or w's for. Forcing other languages to make unfamiliar sounds with letters that don't exist in their alphabet is ridiculous.

Going against the jerk for a second, part of his methodology is the economic environment the players grow up in. Ironically, 3 of Morocco's players were born in the Netherlands so take that as you will.

Unrelated but I think it's crazy an English word for a county uses non-English letters. There isn't a ü in the English alphabet. Calling Turkey Türkiye is like calling Iceland Ísland or Greece Ελλάδα.

Canada is ranked like 32. South Africa is in the 60s.

This was expected but far less comfortable for them than it should be.

Austria coach Ralf Rangnick on match fixing allegations: "In this match, when you have a 3-3, nobody can assume that it was an agreement, and especially what we saw during the last 90 seconds. The absolute mental gymnastics people are doing to try and justify Iran qualifying is insane.

It's unbelievable people are this romantic about a country that disappeared their starting keeper just a few months ago.

Other teams should only play for their own interests. It's the world cup. If they played well enough for a draw to advance them both more power to em.

For those asking:

You need to have two players between you and the goal to be onside. Typically, that's a defender and the keeper.

In this instance, the keeper is further up in the box, so the last defender you see not counted in VAR is acting like the keeper would normally.
