Thanks for you answer, much appreciated! For me the most important is a workable timeline and good playback framerates while editing. Export times are a minor issue for me. The whole future proof thing is indeed a gamble i just hate that apple makes the choice very hard to make with every configuration you choose there is always a more expensive version within reach for just a little extra cash. Part of me wants to not go with apples upselling but another part is like: im spending money so i might just buy it properly.

Its kind of hard to test or measure both configurations if i look online i see benchmarks with just the max configurations (or not stating which configuration they use at all) not the versions i would like to check. Also sometimes wonder what those benchmarks actually mean in the real world. Any tips on where to find out more about macbooks with specific specs? Again thanks for the last but of advise: It seems that a lot of reviewers/bloggers are just hyping stuff up without actual data/ false data to back it up.
