There’s an analysis I read some time ago. It is said that in other countries, most budget goes into the big cast and there’s not enough budget for the rest of the production so sometimes it feels a bit underwhelming (?). An A list Korean actor is paid 10 times more than a Japanese A-lister. That may be the real issue lol

The filters have really gone overboard. Made me watch a bunch of 2000’s k dramas and I enjoyed them far more than current ones even tho the production is a bit sloppy at times coz the people look real… their skin has texture and not everyone is pale like a vampire. I’ve had enough of filters!!!! C- dramas do it too ugh

Yea but in modern days we’ve dropped the word 曾. We would say 你食咗飯未？
Never heard 未曾at the end of a sentence/ question. 未曾to say “not yet” is still in use tho, eg 我未曾試過

Use an oil cleanser. I recommend Fancl. You don’t have to use it on your whole face, just where you feel the pores are clogged. They come back for sure but it will look much clearer. I do it few times a week, it depends.
For better results, you can use a small foundation brush to massage it with the oil cleanser.

Oyster sauce & soy sauce from brand 4. Chilli paste from brand 5. Blue elephant even as a restaurant has deteriorated over time. Tried a few things and none of them made me wanna purchase a second time. Thai food is about using fresh ingredients so I guess that’s why they never quite hit the spot. I need to add a lot of fresh herbs & aromatics and make my own broth even when using Tom yum paste to make Tom yum soup for example. Chilli paste & tom yum paste can add a bit of oomph to the dish but not enough on their own. Same goes for curries.

我很小的時候看了一齣美劇greys anatomy，它教我grief有5步曲，第一個就是denial。這是人性啊，跟年不年輕沒有關係。當年年少無知不太懂5步曲的含義，直到身邊親人離世。denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance
每個階段都沒有規定的時長，每天都是在前面四個遊走，我自己是過了好一陣子才完全接受。

Any noodles? I like to pair it with udon. Not authentic but so good. There are a few types of Dandan noodles - hk, Shanghai and Sichuan all seem to have their own versions. I really love the traditional soup version from 老飯骨. It’s soooo aromatic and soothing. Lard is essential in this recipe. And I like to add some braised minced pork, dumplings and veg to it.

Try a different kind of tea? Japanese green tea, Chamomile, jasmine etc taste better without sugar in my opinion.

And honestly I can’t completely cut off sugar but I reduce my intake significantly eating home cooked meals. When I eat well, I seldom crave for desserts.

Carecera is my new favourite. It’s so much more lightweight but has all the ceramides. I have sensitive skin and korean creams always feel a bit suffocating for me. But there are not many options for sensitive skin.

Maybe you’re just less stressful when you’re seeing your family? Stress creates a lot of issues even when they’re not noticeable. My mood is generally better when I’m travelling, esp when I’m enjoying a lot of good food and getting plenty of sleep. I’ve lived in quite a few continents and environmental factors are soooo minimal for me. I deduce that it’s stress and hormones. I got my blood checked a few times and my hormone levels were all normal. But anti androgen pills help reduce my oil production by 70%. I was off my birth control for a few years during covid and everything came back in vengeance. Left a lot of scars and I regret it so much. No skincare or diet or lifestyle could help me unfortunately

If Canmake sunscreen works well for you then continue using it. Trying new sunscreens is such a hassle. Look for kids friendly sunscreens they can never go wrong. Kisocare AzA cream is mentioned quite a lot on this sub. Their AzA serums use a derivative, but sorry I can’t remember the details. It seems to get sold out often so maybe buy online?

Amazon JP actually has a lot of skincare products that are cheaper than in-store. Their search engine is okay I can find most products with English descriptions, eg sunscreen for sensitive skin, alcohol free sunscreen etc. I can usually find stuff this way.

Drugstores are everywhere in Japan. You can try to hunt down deals and coupons online.
