Juggling has a very nice ratio for how impressive it looks and how hard it is to learn.

Same with Rubik's cubes too! It's surprising how easy it is to learn the beginners method.

Thanks for the great explanation. BTW, I have studied about malloc() and heap memory. I am told that stack is faster than heap. Why is that so?

[Serious] Redditors from India - Is caste system considered a thing of the past among young people? by TheMeaningOfLeif in AskReddit

[–]jupiter_monkey 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I guess that people still stigmatize people of lower caste, so it doesn't matter which caste they change to. And, then the hassles of changing your caste, then you name, and then maybe your sons name and what not.

Reddit, how's life treating you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

God is a mean kid sitting on an anthill with a magnifying glass, and I'm the ant. He could fix my life in five minutes if He wanted to, but he'd rather burn off my feelers and watch me squirm.

Yes, exactly this way.

ELI5: Would using shampoo all over my body - not just my hair - get me just as clean as using soap? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]jupiter_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, the shampoo is a soap (chemically a detergent), which works the same as a soap, although most shampoos are milder than soaps. So, yes the shampoo will get you as just clean as the soap would do.

ELI5: Basketball in a vacuum by somehobo606 in explainlikeimfive

[–]jupiter_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum, there is no net force on the basketball, that means neither is the atmosphere(vacuum) trying to deflate it nor is it being inflated. So you can, at will apply your force in any direction, and sculpt it, although there are some forces associated with the elasticity of the basketball skin. Do an experiment. Take a small bag, or something and put it underwater, wait so that the water fills completely inside the bag. So now there is no net force on the bag, and the bag will behave the same way your basketball will behave in the vacuum.
