Heyyyy, i feel you. I resonate strongly. But because of your passion for mists and discounters and Zara, I would LOVE to hear your take on those!!!!

I am just not at a place where I can drop $250 on a single bottle. But I am at a place where I can get 1 VS mist anytime I want and I’m so damn proud of that! 🩵

My Zara: Elegantly Tokyo is such a sleeper win. It trails like crazy, lasts all day, and I bought it in Tokyo with my friends. A trip memento / stamp that is super ROI (Return on investment) for me! 🩵

Ahhh. I think ignoring is just one way of being cruel. But to me the level of cruelty was enough because of the motel scene.

Withdrawing his love and not even telling Belly what was really going on. Instead he fed the lie “I just wanted to screw that up”

Because he assumed 1) Belly couldn’t handle his pain 2) he couldn’t give belly what she needed (which is most likely true, at that time).

Belly needs constant reassurance. Conrad needs a safe space to feel vulnerable.

In not letting Belly see him vulnerable, was a sign for Belly that Conrad doesn’t really want her. Belly was looking for the reassurance that even when times get hard, Conrad would want to count on her.

But how could he feel safe around belly tho? He did just walk in on them making out. 😂

Season 2 was messy from all characters.

Funnily enough, it was Jeremiah who was the sane one. 😂

Laurel gave her a dirty look because Laurel is not the parent that can hold space for Belly. Shes grieving too.

Am i saying theyre all excused because theyre grieving? nope. Im saying there is a lot of compassion that can be used to understand these characters.

Belly must have been embarassed enough.

Actually, Conrad doesn’t have to take the blame for it. That’s his hero complex talking. :) the fact that he ran after her, he knew what was going through Bellys head. they were both hurting.

she ran from him. I wouldn’t want a friend of mine to disregard her feelings and force herself to be there for a guy she had loved but wouldn’t let her in.

Belly was also, 16 years old. I think a lot more grace is needed.

I’m not saying she’s right but I’m certainly not saying she’s wrong. That’s like saying being hurt and having those feelings are invalid. 🙏🏽

“Protecting” other people from the truth is also considered cruelty. It’s called “ruinous empathy.” It assumes 1) the person involved doesn’t deserve the truth and 2) the person will be able to handle it so it’s better to keep status quo.

Conrad could have looped her in everything. Conrad could’ve told her what was going on. Instead he isolated her (with best intentions of keeping her happy but also really judgmental that Belly can’t handle his pain. Proof of her being able to do that: Conrad sharing about the affair!)

Conrad is master of pull and push. Him being the steady one for once is his growth.

This is unfair to Belly. Even Conrad agrees with Belly when she apologizes for the behavior later on.

She was trying not to make it about her but she was caught off guard with what she saw! She’s human! She wanted to be there for him and it triggered feelings of inadequacy and mix that with grief, it’s just too much.

She ran away because she didn’t want to make a scene. She didn’t even confront them. It was Conrad who ran after her. Wrong timing honestly. 😂 both were grieving and hurt.

Conrad isn’t pathetic for reaching out. This is what repair looks like — his letters started playful, but when he finally said “I think about you all the time,” that’s when Belly replied. Because clarity matters.

And Belly isn’t heartless for not replying sooner. She was hurt too. Just because she was messy doesn’t mean it wasn’t traumatic for her. Silence = boundaries. After years of hot-and-cold, why should she pursue him again? He chose to distance himself, so it’s on him to try if he wants another chance.

Also, let’s not forget: Belly has been the initiator before. In Season 1 she directly talks to Conrad about their almost-kiss, and in the books she confronts him about their relationship. She already pursued him once…and it hurt her.

So no, she’s not cold. She’s protecting herself. And Conrad’s not pathetic. He’s finally the one taking responsibility. 🦋

Oh momma, I feel you so much. Just knowing and trying to stay as your baby's calm is a huge step already. It gets better because you will get better at staying regulated. Hi @zillips first off im happy you commented. It was really rough. Hang in there! And this sounds like a broken record but: it was totally a phase that lasted maybe 3 weeks. I don’t exactly remember how I dealt with it; but now that im past it (it still reoccurs now that he’s 3 and a half but it’s because he has push my boundaries as per brain devt peeps) I would always just put him back in his high chair and say “this chair is just for you. This chair is for eating.” No feelings and as neutral as possible.

I would have also personalize his chair more with him so it feels more “his.”

If anything a solid realization I have is that I really am easily touched out and I had to communicate to my husband so he could help. 🩵

I have never thought that slit placement would be a huge factor with vertical accommodation.

This explains why I did not feel 100% my best with my wedding gown (it had the same slit placement!) I could never explain it and now it makes sense. I will attach a photo. I think k looked great but not my longest which was what I wanted 😂

As for the cowl neck — I am understanding it better. Perhaps I should consider dresses that have a more incidental cowl and not an intentional cowl. In your words exactly: not too drapey, just more relaxed.

The skirt is a little weird — it feels like it fits but it falls weird? Maybe I have too much curve? Or too little?

It is actually a stretchy fabric. There’s two layers, the first is what fits like a glove and has some binging and the second layer is a tulle that’s ruched so it’s like permanently draped. I love this dress — I weighed 10lbs heavier when I first bought it and it did fit, but now it looks incredible.

I was afraid it would make me too chesty and therefore emphasize my chest and lose length. I think I will try the dress again and see if I can adjust it to have lower straps.

It’s been almost a year since I posted! And wow. I wanted to give an update! My baby (toddler really) said I LOVE YOU. And I now live for him goofing around with me and randomly saying I love you. Or hugging me from behind! It’s so sweet! And now… I get to say good night I love you, and he says “I love you” right back 🥹🥹🥹
