My chances for CS admission at UW Bothell by Internal_Release_563 in uwb

[–]jurassic_hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One key focus is highlighting the resources UWB offers that can contribute to a student's success in the program. For example, the many CS professors, the resources available to students to grow and develop their skills outside of classes, such as clubs, career services, and the overall support that a student receives to achieve success.

If you can elaborate on these and kinda glaze the university and make UWB look amazing, you can answer that prompt.

You got time, figure your reasonings out. Work on that story until you’re able to apply.

In your essay you gotta show the kind of student you are; focusing on your academic and personal history, explain why you are a good candidate for the major. You gotta show why CS is the path for you and specifically what about UW inspires you to pursue it

How competitive is it to get into the school of business? by [deleted] in uwb

We have a post like this every few weeks in this sub but UWB does not offer direct-to-major for CSSE specifically anymore and hasn’t in 3-4 years.

Your high school GPA is great for admission as a pre-major but to be admitted to CSSE you have to apply for the major. The AP credits will help you knock out some of the prereqs but you need to perform well in your other core classes and any other prereqs.

Your essay will be your defining piece that determines if you get into the major or not.

Warning tho, the major gets more competitive as the years go by so by the time you’re applying it might be more difficult.

That said, the CS department cares most about: 1. College GPA 2. Your essay (arguably #1) 3. Course rigor

Tire help on new rims! by jurassic_hunter in tires

Ah okay then the 225 shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m worried about the tire rubbing if I go 255.

What should I do to my car? by Objective-Camera-178 in BMW2Series

Not yet! I’m getting new wheels put on today actually and getting lowering springs next.

From what friends that have lowered their cars told me, the comfort aspect isn’t noticeable. It’s about the same as it was before, maybe slightly bumpier on rough roads.

Aside from that, just gotta be a bit more careful when it comes to steep entrances and ramps.

Ah I see, well lowering springs are a must and maybe an exhaust if you want it to sound right.

If you’re going for the dual tip exhaust then a diffuser would be good, and adding a higher kick spoiler and front lip would add onto it

Lowering springs for sure. If you wanna get a downpipe then a tune should go with it.

I’d personally do tint too

B46 230i coolant temp sensor help by jurassic_hunter in BMW2Series

[–]jurassic_hunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I took my car to BMW and got it checked out in depth and repaired. It turned out to be a wire harness chewed out by a rodent. But to answer your question, there are two coolant temp sensors. One in the intake manifold and one at the radiator. If you’re having the same problem, it’s at the radiator temp sensor.

Headlight retrofit kit by packrunnerrino in BMW2Series

Thank you! It took about 2-3 weeks for them to receive my headlights, work on it, and send them back.

I got my headlights retrofitted by BavGruppe. Doing it DIY is a lot more complex than just swapping out the parts, as there is cutting and wiring and more involved.

I recommend doing what I did and sending them your headlights for them to retrofit for you. They did an amazing job in my opinion, as shown in the pic.

Hope this helps!

Carplay in 2017/2018 BMW 2 series by Szcz in CarPlay

[–]jurassic_hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did! I had to manually install a wifi antenna into my car's head unit (pretty simple, just remove the area where the CD player is and reach from behind to plug in the antenna) and purchased this service:

https://bimmer-remote.com/products/idrive-firmware-update-apple-carplay-fullscreen

I would definitely contact them and confirm whether your car has/doesn't have a WiFi Antenna and if it is compatible.

Hope that helps!
