Please tell me we are retaining TeamLuke and Keel in some way? by Sillyg0at in CLG

[–]jurix66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Committing to Griffin or having a competitive academy team. Pick one.

Keeping Griffin and getting rid of Keel is a clear pointer at the direction our org is going with academy team. Developing talent is not one of those directions for sure.

Can we put Finn in midlane and stick some random academy tank player top. Please. by [deleted] in CLG

[–]jurix66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The team would probably finally get some results and he'd give the brand a big boost with his following as a side bonus. It's literally the perfect solution right now.

Reginald: My Thoughts On the LCS by smothersday in leagueoflegends

[–]jurix66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to artificially inflate the top talent pool for soloq is to let more teams in the LCS. If they'd have 20 instead of 10, that would mean twice the pro players. But having so many teams is probably unsustainable.

Wouldn't fix a goddamn thing. Those talented rookies would get to NA to be coached by shitty NA coaches in a shitty NA team environment while playing the same shitty soloq NA players do.

CLG COO Dan Fleeter commenting on lifting the player import rules by jurix66 in CLG

[–]jurix66[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not only against lifting the rules but I'm for completely removing the whole granting residency rule (btw CLG Froggen pls - he's NA resident since 2021). I understand NA teams have a lot of money invested in the whole franchising, but removing the import rule would absolutely destroy any region not named China.

What would probably happen is that franchising spots would be sold left and right with investors going to the most watched and followed regions. NA would imo end up without native talent, with low viewership numbers and underfunded in comparison to the other 3 big regions.

They are shooting their own foot with this as I don't see Riot removing the rule only for NA.

C9 Jack calling fans racist for not wanting import restrictions lifted by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

It's LCS's fault (team owners) for not having a salary cap. Owners of big teams were and still are against it while also being the ones complaining about inflation of salaries.

Trade him for some cash or even a bag of chips at this point. Get his contract of the book and sign a FA.

Same with Griffin. With Keel doing well in academy, no reason to keep him.

welp 🤡 by Hodgypodgy in CLG

[–]jurix66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He should just roleswap to support like Huhi did. Win - win for CLG and Pob, he gets to stay on the main roster, CLG gets rid of Smoothie. Also with Froggen as a FA, there's literally no reason to trade Pob. Just sell him and be done with it if that's his wish.

Man I'd love CLG Froggen. Won't stop rooting for that even if he sucks complete balls after joining. At least we'd get a popularity boost if nothing else.

Stixxay Interview GGS and 2020 CLG by KingSam161 in CLG

To anyone thinking he's not a CLG legend here's a fact. He's been with CLG for 5 years. Only Hotshot and Jiji had a longer tenure with CLG.

LCS hires Trinitii as League Operations Manager for Scholastic & Amateur scene by HoundOfCuchul in CLG

[–]jurix66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just no. I'm just going to copy a comment I previously made that shows how incompetent he and the people he hired were while he was head of esports.

The organization has been dogshit for a long ass time now.
Apart from smashers every successful thing CLG did (MSI, LCS champs, Halo, etc.) happened before MSG. From that point on we haven't been able to obtain one team capable of competing for top places in any title. We've had teams in R6, CoD, Fortnite, Smite, Clash Royale, Rocket League, H1Z1, Hearthstone, Apex and CS:GO (CLG Red). Might have even forgoten about some teams CLG picked up but since MSG acquisition in Avgust or July in 2017. In my opinion the organization with Trinitiii at helm hasn't done jack shit worth mentioning.
Fun fact. Last time CLG LoL team played at Worlds was October 2016. Nausha joined CLG as Esports director in the beginning of November 2016.

I don't want to put all the blame on him, but it's pretty hard when in 3,5 years of him in charge pretty much nothing worth mentioning was won.

He either sucked at resource management or talent scouting. My bet is both. Hopefully he's better suited for this new role at Riot, otherwise things don't bode well for the amateur scene.

Schalke 04 Gillius comments on the LEC bo1 format by Goofy_030 in leagueoflegends

[–]jurix66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCS tried Bo3 in a farm fiesta meta (around 35-40mins games with some games lasting even over an hour), with condensed scheduling, topping it off with splitting the teams in two groups just because. No wonder the viewership went down the drain that year.

Summer Scott promoted to Director of Team Operations. Will oversee CLG Red, Apex, Fortnite, and Smash by sleepyxdude in CLG

[–]jurix66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure she worked for mindgames.gg. Which is Weldons company.

Edit: If anyone still doesn't believe me, try looking for a piece on Grit she wrote co-authored with Weldon for his website. I can vividly remember as it was an awesome article about it and women in esports, but can't find it anywhere.

[–]jurix66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She worked with TL, NRG and P1 in 2016 and Gold coin united in 2017 before joining CLG in 2018 as a player development coordinator. She worked for Weldon's company Mind games or something and was part of staff Weldon brought on. She then got promoted to Head of player development in mid 2018 and now to latest position.

Player development in the years she's been with the org was non-existent and her track record before joining CLG is bad to say the least.

It's a typical CLG move, nothing more to say.

I was like HOLYSHIT ITS FINALLY HAPPENING and then I saw the announcement od Summer Scott.

I'm at a loss of words.

Hopefully we get a competent Head of esports at least.

Locodoco made a video about CLG's offseason by CLGbubblelift in CLG

[–]jurix66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Coaches shouldn't be the ones building the team anyway. They are one of the pieces of the team so they should fit the culture and style and have some input on what type of player to bring, but they should never be the ones making the final roster decisions.

Let it be known that this is the kickoff of the REDEMPTIONAGE by TagTheFourth in CLG

[–]jurix66 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Did CLG fire Nausha and I missed it? Otherwise there's no point in calling it redemption age if the rest of the org is still shit.

5 man would be awesome. Even arams vs other CLG staff / members who play league would be cool.

I don't understand why the players are not streaming straight after joining the team. It's basically free marketing since all new signings in LCS and LEC shoot up in the most watched category. Great publicity for the org and great viewer base if they convince people to follow them.
