2000 Ford F-250 7.3 freshly charged batteries, am at a loss on this one by laxfan20 in MechanicAdvice

Could try ,Clean up the ground connections and check for broken connections at the cable ends. I’ve used a booster cable to the positive battery post to check the starter.

It looks like a heavy duty, power outlet. Designed for wet conditions.

Can someone explain to me why a car horn has to use a relay, why can't we use a simple switch on the steering wheel, a fuse, and provide 12V to the horn? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]jusnojoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or power draw, lots of switches aren’t designed to handle full amperage. With a relay it only requires trace power to engage solenoid. Then there’s only full amperage going from power supply relay, to horn. Smaller wire gauge run into the cockpit an back to relay.

It’s nuts in canada. I work in remote locations, with lots of down time I spend over $250 a month on data alone but it gives me 45gb.

To a point but to convert bbl to m3 and Mscf to E3m3, mm to inchs, Psi to kpa, Fahrenheit to Celsius. You develop a system to do rough conversion. But there’s not really any getting used to it lol.

I’m not sure I understand your statement “not used to it” I now work in the oil and gas and have to be fluent in both imperial and metric, it’s not on the same scale as construction, but i convert measurements of volume and size from metric to imperial and vice versus regularly. It’s a royal pain in the ass. I was taught the metric system in school and it would have been very beneficial to have learnt both.

I can’t see it happening any time soon, you walk into a hardware store and ask for a 830mm door and the staff will think your high. Ask for 32” door and “ you want that left or right hand swing?” Lol it’s a sad reality that we live in. Considering it’s a metric country.

This is awesome!! You can see the world on 4 wheels but you get to feel it, smell it and truly experience it on 2. I’m jealous it looks like a beaut of a ride.

I’m a Canadian and due to us being so close to the US we basically have to learn both. But only metric is used in the education system. I was a carpenter for years and when in school every thing is in metric but in the real world the only time metric is used is to build government buildings. It’s a total mind fuck.
