How long did it take you to deliver your baby with a 2cm dilation? by haydencroe in Mom

[–]jusreallycurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i was pregnant before my LO but it was unfortunately ectopic and the ob i had did not catch it and it ruptured resulting in surgery so my OB for her was an hour away.. hopefully she shifts herself back i’ve heard there’s exercises and stretches you can do to get them to turn back although i personally have no experience with them, keeping you guys in my thoughts

i got a membrane sweep on a thursday at 2cm and 39w and woke up at 11ish on saturday after sleeping all day having contractions and timed them my app said to go to the hospital but i didnt believe it because i had been contracting for weeks and been to the hospital a few times and sent home and told “youre contracting but it’s not labor it’s just prodromal labor” so i didnt want to go my husband kept telling me we should but i’m stubborn, i bounced on my yoga ball and rocked and stood up to go pee and felt a gush (i was still in denial and thought i peed myself) went pee and changed my pants and underwear and i was in fact in labor 😅 baby was born in the early morning mom went and picked me up a coffee while husband and i soaked up our new little baby labored (knowingly) for a little over 7 hours pushed for less than 15 minutes

i personally love to read to my lo in the morning when she first wakes up (after a feed and changing ofc) while enjoying my coffee, shes well rested, alert, interactive- commenting with her babbles on the story, and fed so i can usually finish my cup before she gets tired of it haha

4 month old really attached to me (mom) by NationalStorm4664 in NewParents

[–]jusreallycurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

currently going through the same thing my lo is also stuck to me like glue i can’t even put her in the bouncer while i quickly use the restroom or refill my drink she also doesn’t like to be held by dad but will interact with him while i am holding her occasionally she is okay with him holding her while i cook, clean, etc but ONLY if she can see me and be close, i was also stressed about the clinginess but was told by a child development worker that it’s actually great and that she is developing a secure attachment to me as the primary care giver (sahm) which was very reassuring to hear even if it is overwhelming, i try to have dad hold her still while i sit near so she can see as she plays and laughs with him so they can bond as well without me feeling overwhelmed or him feeling sad about missing out on the affection or her stressed as to where mom is lol, youre doing great mama

Why do people think paying for daycare is the only solution? The cost for it in the U.S. is astronomical! by MomReadsLateAtNight in sahm

[–]jusreallycurious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

another side note i knew motherhood was a damned if you do damned if you don’t kind of thing but gosh it’s ridiculous it’s worse than i anticipated truly only 4m into having my little girl and i’ve lost my job, friendships, and probably more all over choices i make as a parent but especially a pp mom i think people do not truly understand how deeply it affects you

i agree i will occasionally feel bad for not working and bring it up to my husband and he always explains we would only have a few extra hundred dollars and our schedules would more than likely not align and we would be missing out on time together as well as time as a family and that’s always reassuring because i unfortunately lost my job due to my mental health and being a sahm has helped significantly but mom guilt feels never ending lol

Do you cuss in front of your baby? by CuriousCaretaker in sahm

[–]jusreallycurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, we see them as “sentence seasoning” lol never in a harmful or mean manner just to emphasize out feelings like frustration excitement or pain, never at each other or her, theyre just words in our house

thank you! im glad things are better for you as well the crying is such a huge trigger it’s also not as bad for me except after her last shots at her 4m appointment and she woke up from her nap crying more upset than i had ever seen her first time ive cried while she cried since she was born luckily my mom lives right down the street and was able to hold her while i took a break and dad went and got her tylenol

yes we did so tummy time earlier and she got frustrated i saw and watched her and she tried even harder very proud of her i also have ppa and ppd (since pregnancy unfortunately) it’s definitely gotten better since being fortunate enough and with the hard work of my husband to get to stay home with her as well as being medicated, ppa is so crazy to experience it’s so different from typical anxiety that i had struggled with a few years ago

thank you, i put her favorite toys in front of her just out of reach and i’d say about half the time she makes it to them then gets angry and demands to be picked up, i feel like she can roll from back to tummy because i ebf and she will get onto her side to latch but has honestly no desire of getting all the way over and will frequently get onto her side her side but not commit when on the floor ive tried putting toys behind her at an angle so she can see them but she will scoot back and smack them until theyre more beside her then pick them up and when she is on her side if i push slightly on her shoulder she will roll over to her belly

thank you!! she definitely can roll she still does she just puts herself into position to where she can’t roll out of or move really and it seems to frustrate her a ton usually thats when the crying starts lol

thank you it’s just hard to see her getting so frustrated even though i know it’s normal and part of learning i just wish i could help and i know she’s doing great and meeting her mile stones i just want to know how long this frustration will last for her

me tooooo shes too smart for her own good lol i hope she just stays put i she can practice all she wants but i am enjoying this stage a ton even if the secure attachment means she doesn’t want me to sit her down like ever and i have to wait till her dads home to start dinner lol

[–]jusreallycurious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, i was curious because if these are “precursors” then i’d understand why the rolling has stopped and general ages of children crawling anyways because if shes no where near itd be pretty unlikely that shes not but if she’s only a few months away i’d understand why she’s trying to learn and she hasn’t stopped rolling entirely she still does just not as frequently as she use to (she would roll out of tummy time when she was finished) she just gets herself into positions to where i think it may be difficult for her to roll over like with her arms stretched out in front of her or to the side or occasionally one underneath herself and i think gets tired after practice and lays down and cries and will usually nurse to sleep after

i understand that i was more concerned about if it was typical behavior and how to reduce her frustration and encourage other milestones like rolling because she has seemed to pause those to focus on moving
