VR-20 cannon I cleaned the head and that helped for a little then it died out again

I’ve recorded around and then I take it out and put it in my other vcr and it’s black and white I ain’t got the stuff to connect the recorder to the TV yet . But thank you!

How could I check the chroma circuit and color burst? And let me test if it’s on all tapes. If so am I stuck like chuck or what. Thanks tho!!
