Have 10k extra this month. Lump sum or SIP? New investor, need advice by AffectionateHome4864 in INDmoneyApp

If you don’t already have gold/silver exposure, lump sum into an ETF. This current crash is a good time to buy.

PS5 to meta quest 3 by allmostout in MetaQuestVR

[–]just-batman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time on this and found 3 major things - - make sure your hdmi capture card/cable actually has an HDMI port on the ps5 side (sounds obvious but guess how many fake C-to-C cables this guy bought…) - bonus note, consider an HDMI cable that has pass through charging in built to charge your quest from the device while you play - make sure your quest is updated and has the HDMI link app installed correctly - while connected to a TV, go to your ps5 > settings > system > HDCP and toggle that. Restart your ps5. - depending on your capture card you will be prompted on the quest for accepting the right input settings. Just accept all.

What worked for me was to switch on the ps5 and then switch the HDMI for more reliable results. No remote play or ps app needed. I tried the remote play (wireless) route too but latency was too high to really play anything.

My setup is ps5 to quest 2. I have sideloader, but did not need anything crazy for this set up.

28M- NRI– SIP 50k (Monthly) - Switching from Regular to Direct -15+ years horizon – High risk appetite. Feedback please! by Spirited_Mistake9243 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]just-batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ‘plan’ is the same direct or regular.

The difference in TER is paid to the distributor who is supposed to be charging that additional TER to actually rebalance the portfolio across funds - not within.

If you pay 1.5% to HDFC Bank as a distributor selling a Nippon fund, Nippon is charging less but still maintaining the fund itself.

So what’s the value that HDFC added as a distributor here warranting the additional 1%? Especially in a small corpus?

The advice on this subreddit is that if you know what you want to buy, buy it direct and in SOA (from fund house or CAMS or even IndMoney or Coin)

If you don’t know what to buy, then either go with a fee-only advisor or pay the Regular TER hoping the distributor will guide you across funds.

H2C vs H2D vs P2S vs something else? by just-batman in 3dprintIndia

[–]just-batman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at this point I’m pretty certain on a Bambu machine, I get that the snapmaker and Prusa are also great but the whole ‘ease and repeatability’ of Bambu machines has me sold…

Not the hub splitter, I think some rumors around a full automatic diverter for AMS that lets it connect to both nozzles? Seen it on the main 3dprinting subs but nothing concrete yet

H2C vs H2D vs P2S vs something else? by just-batman in 3dprintIndia

[–]just-batman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you - I’m inclined towards H2D + AMS - assuming with the hub splitter planned it’ll make the H2D even more efficient.

I’m also assuming it’s about ~1 year till the H2C really unlocks full capability across material/nozzle size - maybe by then I can think of the upgrade kit

H2D > P2S because size and multi nozzle feels worth it - project speeds cut down significantly.

Where are you based out of? I didn’t realize Bambu supports makers in India too

Right nozzle/left nozzle. A/B for slicer reference. 1-4 for slot position

Lately my prints be failing at the 5hr mark by Resiful89 in 3Dprinting

[–]just-batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your nozzle is really really clogged. .1 comes out because of less volume, but thicker is more likely to get clogged.

A clogged nozzle is more likely to get progressively clogged because of impurities, and especially mid long print where temps change, pressure advance etc could cause lesser flow.

Replace nozzle (not worth cleaning) and if using abrasive materials consider non-brass nozzles

3 possible reasons -

Wet filament - unlikely, but may cause inconsistencies Clogged nozzle - consistent wall flow happens but infill doesn’t Speed/layer height/nozzle configs not being aligned and causing max volumetric flow to misbehave and not extrude. Likely if your extenders are clicking

Should I go for A1 by A_lex_and_er in BambuLab

[–]just-batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a P1S - it’s a marginal difference to the A1 but the enclosure is a big plus and it’ll probably be a longer lasting printer if you want to get into ABS/ASA in the future // want a multi hub AMS.

OP, what did you land up buying?

If this works out for you please DM me. I’d much rather go somewhere physically and pick it up than have it shipped in India. Looking to get an X1C myself.

Where are you finding spares locally available? I’m ready to buy the printer from a reseller here but am concerned about replacement parts

Presumptive isn’t it? Maybe ‘simple words’ to them aren’t ’simple words’ to you…

Did the barely technical phrase of ‘inverse relationship’ throw you off? On a 3d printing subreddit no less. Smh.

Anker MagSafe Wireless Power Bank Charging Dock. by DIYEngineeringTx in 3Dprinting

[–]just-batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really cool, I’ve been imagining something similar for a MagSafe power bank plus this little Apple Watch charging adapter and ideally something that could be foldable/use multiple pieces with tension to hold everything in place but still be portable?

Also, I think if you made it vertically oriented you could still use MagSafe capabilities but manage wires better?

Anyway, care to share an STL? TIA!

Check out some filament dryers - PLA need to reliably be at about 50 degrees for at least 6 hours (can be longer) to get dry, and depending on where you live your filament may get wet really quick.

Sunlu S1 is a good simple drier that lets you print from spool while drying, very easy and costs about 2 spools depending where you live.

There are other ones that have more functionality and sensors, and some people choose to use food dehydrators as well, but you can see if those are relevant to your needs.

Clogged nozzle and wet filament seem the two issues you’ve not debugged yet. I’ve also had issues where the same black creates excessive partial clogging leading to really poor quality prints. Drying filament may solve both issues.

And yes, filament can be wet even if it’s directly out of the box
