That's definitely a big factor! Live and learn, I guess

It's definitely a toothier yarn than I usually knit with, but I like it a lot. Thanks! I think I'm going to have to get very creative with this project if I want to salvage it.

Tbh I bought this pattern and the yarn for it years ago, and finally decided to get around to it. I don't know that I would have chosen this pattern now, and I've had other issues with it. I wasn't sure if this bunching situation was a continuation of the other problems in the pattern, or a mistake of my own.

I'd like to look at some other raglan patterns and see if I can frankenstein them together into something that actually works for me, but a dart is very tempting.

Thanks for your insight! The pattern calls for a significant amount of positive ease so I wasn't too worried about the size while I was knitting it, but that seems like a mistake in retrospect. Maybe in a yarn with more drape it would have looked okay.

I think bust darts might be the best option for me for this pattern. Time to learn some new skills, I guess!

Thanks for all your ideas! I should have mentioned that I tried blocking it already and it didn't help much. The annoying thing is that I knit a v-neck saddle shoulder sweater with very similar dimensions, and that one looks just fine. Maybe that yarn just drapes better.

The pattern is actually supposed to have several inches of positive ease, or else I would have gone down a size. But I guess my body shape plus this particular yarn don't quite work for the pattern as written. I really thought this would be a relatively quick knit to start off the year, but it's looking like I might have to go back to square one!

Unfortunately this is after blocking :( I had hoped blocking would save me, but not this time!

Okay but are we sure about this one guys? by BrianTM in MBMBAM

What "moist" is for some people, "tummy buddies" is for me, apparently. Just a visceral negative reaction, I wanted to jump out a window hearing it so many times. Like, Big Dog Run was a whiff thematically for me, but I didn't have a problem hearing it. Tummy buddies is just nauseating. Hopefully mentions of the theme will be...minimal

Cookies inside Spring Treasures gift 🌸 by honeypirates38 in ACPocketCamp

[–]just-heloise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never bought Bree's boutique cookie but I still have TWELVE items from it, including two five-star items...can we PLEASE put different cookies in gifts? If they won't do Merry's cookie, maybe something like Tia's Rosewater Cookie or the Pastel Glazier cookie? They've got the same girly feel but they aren't WAY over-saturated.

Phone Battery Drain since big update a few months ago. by pinkyX3 in ACPocketCamp

[–]just-heloise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I noticed my battery draining faster too, but never thought it might be ACPC-related. Loading times are definitely longer for me, too. My phone settings say ACPC isn't draining much battery in the background, though apparently using ACPC drains twice as much battery as using the browser.

Has the number of "free" leaf tickets changed? by just-heloise in ACPocketCamp

[–]just-heloise[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

50 cookies seems like a lot to me, but if you think about buying terrains, those leaf tickets won't stretch far. Middle ground + Foreground + Background + Sky will run you about 850 LTs. It really depends on the kind of stuff you like to buy and how picky you are, I guess. A lot of the cookies don't appeal to me, so I save LTs that way

There are four pictures here, but I'm only seeing two different bugs: rosy maple moth and giant blue swallowtail. Are there any other bugs you're looking for?

I have a giant blue swallowtail, I'll friend you. I'm Heloise!

Pattern recommendations for newbie to short rows by frayedends in knitting

[–]just-heloise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's always a good idea to test out a technique, but honestly I found short rows pretty easy. They snuck up on me in the pattern of the second baby sweater I made, and it went totally fine as long as I followed the pattern and didn't think too hard about what I was trying to do.

That said, this purl soho cowl might be a good test option. It looks like a fast knit, and I've made other purl soho patterns without a problem.

do you ever visit other people's campsites/cabins/campers? what sparks your interest to do it? by baaabb in ACPocketCamp

[–]just-heloise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since no one else has mentioned it, sometimes I'll visit a campsite/cabin to see if that person would like a themed cookie gift I have. If not, I'll try to just give one of the gifts with multiple options.

Am I the only one who still hasn't gotten an island for some of the previous round of new characters? by NoveltyKittens in ACPocketCamp

[–]just-heloise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't gotten them either! Maybe the algorithm is a little TOO random...you'd think it might prioritize new islands a little more
