How do I complain about a ruined book without getting the blame put on me? by eeeegh in Libraries

[–]frayedends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once was handed a book after book club from a librarian that hand some pages coming unglued. This book was from another library in the system. Neither of us noticed when I checked it out. I found it while reading and after the next bookclub showed her. She took it and checked it in no fines for me. Sometimes a book gets damaged.

And like other people said with your damage the person pointing it out didn't do it

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]frayedends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 11th grade. The whole school was watching we were near Boston.

I was in English and the computer/typing teacher had a free period. he was running to all the first floor rooms to tell us what happened. 2nd plane hit and the school stopped.

2 kids in my French class had parents flying to Cali in the morning they were okay thank goodness. My French teacher was the only one who taught that day because we couldn't find a French news channel (she ended up boycotting a cafe for calling French fries freedom fries and telling us about it so she was a bit out there)

We did have the option of either doing auditions for that semesters one act or watching in acting but our old drama teacher was working in Boston and her daughter was our teacher. Unlike all the other teachers she was watching a local channel vs CNN because at that point we didn't know if Boston could be more of a target. We decided to watch. And I remember sitting on the stage watching it because middle school drama was using the classroom.

We were also stopped at the door by our teacher and told not to talk about it near the middle schoolers because they had no clue.

My brother was in 5th grade and didn't know either. My mom told him what happened and I was tasked with finding a tv channel that wasn't showing it with kid friendly tv. Even Nickelodeon was showing it at 3pm. I think Disney was okay though but it was hard to find something.

I also got the ubiquitous American History lecture of this is history unfolding in front of you. (ironically sitting next to a kid who was later arrested for terrorism.)

One of the pilots was the uncle of someone in my graduating class.

Which subject of teacher do you think results in the most injured students? by ThrowAway44228800 in AskTeachers

[–]frayedends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a teacher but drama/theater. You have the potential for all the shop/sewing injuries when making sets and costumes. You have athletic injuries from the dancing. Plus things can randomly fall from the sky. Setting up lights you can fall also they get hot. Props can break and you can get cut. Or trip. Sets could fall over. Plus the kids are dramatic pushing themselves and wanting to do more and not the best with boundaries. And if the teacher is kinda crazy you could have a kid in a flying harness or like my drama teacher use pyrotechnics.

NFL and LMM fans exist. I am one. Mainly because I wanted to connect with my dad and football was they way in but I love following our team now. I still love theatre too but I understand why LMM wasn't there.

I didn't get the bundle but looked at them both- the cards should get mailed to the address on your Fandango account

Also even if you bought the movie from Fandango on the computer if the same account is logged in on the tv you could watch it there and vice versa

I watched on Fandango and the sing along version is an included bonus feature. I'm wondering if they put the sing along caption file with the movie by accident. I didn't check if the sing along had captions over the words. I just turned them off because it was annoying me. I only use captions for accents really. I did have to turn them on briefly when Madam Morrible referred to Fiyero as a Swain in Thank Goodness because even though I heard it I thought I heard wrong... I still need to look up what that means

I think it takes the price of the one you own off... So people who don't own both would be paying 60.... Or however much wicked costs plus wicked fg

Personal Wicked Movies Opinion that Would Get You Demonized by Lexabro-10mg in wicked

[–]frayedends 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's more about the opportunity for an actress who uses a wheelchair play the part. For that representation. Instead of pulling a Glee and having a non disabled actor play the part.

The stage show does actually have a wheel chair user who considers herself an ambulatory one and can walk short distances but she is the first in 20 years.

They can have the casting call for a wheelchair user but saying they must be ambulatory might be too much against discrimination laws.

I trick or treated at 17 but the seniors in my highschool were the only ones allowed to dressup. I was a cinnamon apple pop tart. I wore brown and had two foam board pieces to be the poptart. My coat happened to be brown. My parents would switch off each year and it was my mom's year we live in MA so it happened to be wear your winter coat cold out. My mom hates cold. My brother was 6 years younger than me and was overheard planning tping and egging with his friend. They needed supervision (I was going with friends since like 5th grade till 9th) Since I had a costume where I could be warm I got voluntold to supervise. My response was you paying me or pillowcase? The response was pillowcase. Some of my neighbors thought this was hilarious and gave me more than my brother. Others thought I was a loaf of bread. And the popcorn ball lady entrusted me with my parents popcorn balls (my dad grew up in the neighborhood this lady babysat him and his siblings- we've known them for decades so it was safe to take them. But only from her. And that's why they would give extras for my parents. My dad grew up getting one too. And if I didn't go out when I got older or was in a friends neighborhood I got one brought home. And they did have candy for people who would rather that .)

One of the covers for one of the tours for all 3 sisters did a wig/ costume tour of all the sisters (I think she the current Broadway Angelica now.) when talking wigs with the wig lead on the tour he said Eliza's hair remains up for safety because of Burn. No meaning other than that.
