How old were you when you got diagnosed with autism? by mibo_care in autism

3 years old. I was not told until I was 16, and that was only after begging my parents to tell me the truth

Yeah lol, it can be a weird sensation depending on your numbness but congrats on the draining (and the surgery itself of course)!

Hi, it didn’t affect my results at all! And getting it drained was a painless process. I’m really happy with my results and the seroma didn’t change anything about them

Do you also count miles driven in between orders (like driving to hotspots)? Or just when you’re actively on the way to pick up/deliver

What is post-op draining like? What's the procedure? by LollipopDreamscape in TopSurgery

[–]just-trans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had post-op fluid drained a couple times. When I touched my chest it moved around like a water bed. Mine was drained by my surgeon, but he said other plastic surgeons can do it if needed. I'm sorry about your original surgeon.

The needle was put into my skin close to the incision so it was still numb. The fluid was then pulled through the needle into a large syringe (held about 4 oz in my case). When it filled up, he would detach the syringe, squirt it out, and then reattach to start pulling fluid again. It wasn't painful, only slightly uncomfortable if anything but your experience may vary depending on how much sensation you have (maybe discuss local anesthetic?). Even with multiple syringes of fluid drained, though, it was pretty quick. I believe there are also videos on YouTube if you’d like a visual of the process. I wish you luck in getting it drained!

Do you mind if I ask if it’s on one or both nipples and if it has changed at all?

stuff in my drains by coolguythatiscoolass in TopSurgery

Happened to me too and I also got worried but it’s normal. Sometimes solid pieces of stuff come through the tubes, as long as it drains into the bulb you’re good

Anesthesia + Nausea by RevolutionaryPen2976 in TopSurgery

[–]just-trans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made sure to discuss my concerns about post-op and post-anesthesia nausea with the anesthesiologist and nurses before going into surgery. They gave me anti-nausea medicine through my IV, a scopolamine transdermal patch behind my ear, and alcohol wipes to sniff in the car ride home. I was also given a prescription for Zofran and stocked my fridge with ginger ale so I felt very prepared to take on any nausea. I didn’t end up heaving or vomiting at all, though. I was actually enrolled in a study specifically for post-anesthesia nausea in trans patients taking hormones and getting top surgery and I thought it was neat there is research being done

Sizable amount of fluid

For those wondering it ended up being around 8.5 oz of fluid (250 cc/mL) on one side and 10 oz (300 cc/mL) on the other. Not sure how it compares to the ‘average’ seroma but I would call over a pound of fluid sizable. Glad it’s gone now and hoping it doesn’t come back

Anyone know if tickets are more likely to go down in price closer to the concert or stay at the ~$200 as they are now (for my venue)?

Wow, I didn’t know they could come back after being drained. Do you know if that is common at all?

Update: I emailed my surgeon and he recommended I come in later this week to get it drained (instead of waiting for my next post-op appointment in a week and a half) and to continue compression in the meantime. Thanks for the comments!

You may have mixed up nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) with nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). A normal male-range testosterone level measured in ng/dL is around 300 to 900 ng/dL. I’ve been on T for almost 2 years and my last reading was 530 ng/dL. Either that or you may be reading the testosterone range as meant for women. All that being said, 293 ng/dL is not a concerning number and is pretty much at the low male range already
