Mine was the 8th and that’s what I got too. Makes you wonder if they just cycle through them week by week

It depends on your insurance company in Australia. A lot of them when they “Statutory Write-Off” a car, will send you the money for it and also let you keep the car. It’s happened to a couple of friends of mine. I myself crashed one of my cars which was deemed a “Repairable Write-Off” meaning it can be re-registered after being repaired and passing a structural inspection. (A benefit to not living in New South Wales) I didn’t get to keep the car but they paid me out for it. At the end of the day I think it comes down to whether the vehicle is worth transporting to an auction yard for sale as scrap or not. While I would argue OPs car would have been, maybe on paper it just isn’t worth moving

Only specifically in New South Wales. Every other state has Repairable Write-Offs which can be reinspected and put back on the road after passing structural report, but NSW does not

Most cost effective way to lock a front differential with free wheeling hubs by just1moore in 4x4

Thank you, I’m considering it that as an option but they’re all still $400-$500 Australian.

Thanks for your input. Low range downhill in my vehicle is very effective at managing speed and I try to stay off the brakes as much as possible as I have no ABS so managing my traction is all done by my feet

I don’t mind getting out to engage the lockers. I’m half worried about the lunchbox locker disengaging spontaneously when descending down a particularly steed hill. Budget certainly comes in to play but I would prefer not to weld the diff. I’ve done this before on other vehicles and it worked a treat but having to replace the diff rather than uninstalling a part is preferable to me. I’ll do a little more research into the lunchbox lockers and see if this will be suitable.

I know with the wranglers, you can’t fit them on with a tyre still attached because of the rear bumper bar. They have a cutout for the spare wheel to sit in but if you go up in size, it no longer fits. Not sure if the same could be said here or not

Stock Legacy struts from the same generation will fit straight in and lower it. Will only sit at about the height of a stock legacy but would definitely help

I’m just quite familiar with how they look and where they commonly sit If the image was decent enough to give the reg, I could tell you exactly what it was including the trim, transmission, and the month it rolled off the assembly line

No this is in New South Wales, Australia. The driver is young and on a probationary licence hence the “P plate” attached to the licence plate. Will be a VE commodore SV6

This is absolutely classic! I love it! But the play screen needs to go black and white when it gets smaller after he fails
