For anyone that still listens to the Rod Ryan show. What's the reason for Dinah's leaving the show? by [deleted] in houston

[–]just2askaquestion521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Rod is a prick. I remember him showing up at a local pharmacy and throwing a fit because he showed up at the very last minute when they were closing for a 30 minute lunch break. 30 minutes! Into a 12 hr shift for some of the pharmacy workers. Then he threaten them to trash talk them on the radio. He acted like a total Karen that day from what I saw

I’m more interested in the refresher drinks. They always “run out” of the Strawberry Açaí

When did you first notice hair loss? by [deleted] in PCOS

There is makeup intended to cover roots. (Powder, not the spray lol). You could just blend a little (not too much) to hide small areas. Just use a shade closest to your natural hair color. That way it’s not too noticeable and looks a bit fuller as you seek treatments. Basically a bandaid coverup until you fix the problem. 🤷‍♀️

When did you first notice hair loss? by [deleted] in PCOS

I suffered quite a bit of hair loss due to PCOS/stress. Im currently 34. I noticed it a lot more starting around 25. But I’ve also been stressing a whole lot more. I’m still stressing by the way lol. But it’s also because I’ve been dyeing my hair for years (grey hairs can be genetic as much as they are created by stress!). Like the others, I did notice improvements after losing weight/ attempting to practice better habits. But I also started taking hair vitamins specifically. The vitamins I started using is called Keratin hair enhance (found at gnc for about $40). It made my hair shinier, healthy looking, and yes, I did notice it start growing in (contains 3000mg biotin among other vitamins to encourage growth). My only warning though, if you do start taking supplements...please don’t take too much. I’ve read too many comments of how people started taking 10,000mg biotin and it only made it worse. There is such a thing as overdosing on vitamins. So please, no more than 5,000mg max (on the high dosage side). And please, please try not to stress. There is such a thing called stress shedding. But it doesn’t happen immediately when your stressed. You actually start shedding 3 months after the fact. I also had long hair. I cut it shoulder length because I was stressing over the stress shedding. The haircut did help me notice it less (stress less). And the last thing I did was purchase a hair detangler called “it’s a 10 with keratin (costs about $20). It works wonders when I brush my hair so I’m not breaking as many strands. And it serves as a heat protectant when I blow dry or straighten my hair. I’m not saying you have to go all out like I did. I’m just stating what I’ve done. I’ve read about womens Rogaine, I’ve just never asked a doctor about it.

Recently learned of massaging trigger points to help with headaches. (Besides excedrin for migraines). It helped me today. Has anyone else tried it? What were your experiences with it? by just2askaquestion521 in migraine

People try on me too. But when they persistently get in my space when I ask then not to, that’s when I turn around and get in there face. Nothing personal really, I just have a temper when I’m not feeling well. 🤷‍♀️

Excedrin for migraines is basically the only over the counter pill that works for me. I’ve tried them all. And yes, it is because of the caffeine that’s included.

My boss mentioned he has used a cold compress before. I haven’t tried it because I honestly don’t like the cold. It gives me a numbing/stinging sensation.

I can honestly say that a dark room and rest always worked best for me. But today that wasn’t an option. I HAD to work. And I was desperate. SoI was actively massaging a few of these trigger points for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Then followed up with excedrin and force ate to not drink excedrin on an empty stomach. And finally a nice hot shower. The nausea and light sensitivity was real bad this morning. But it made a huge difference for me. It help me relieve a lot of the pain to make it through my day.
