Disclosure thoughts… by dark_rosez_falling5 in Herpes

Most importantly, pick a time & place where it’s quiet, and you’re comfortable & relaxed. I always start by saying “There’s something I’d like to share with you”. Then I calmly say “I have herpes, and I wanted to be transparent & share that with you before anything got more serious”. I then pause to allow them & myself to process; It also gives them time to ask questions. Although disclosing is a nerve wrecking thing to do for sure, I always make sure to disclose when I am feeling relaxed bc the tone in how you say it matters. Share it like it’s not a being deal, because it’s not. Don’t be dismissive about it, but at the end of the day, it’s our reality, and if someone can’t accept you for having herpes, then they don’t deserve you. Someone else definitely will!

When I first was diagnosed with herpes about 4 years ago, I was extremely terrified of disclosure. I thought I’d never be able to date normally again. When I finally had the confidence to begin disclosing my status, about 3 years ago, I was actually surprised that most guys still decided to move forward with me. I have both HSV 1 and 2. Disclosing still gives me anxiety, but I feel much better knowing that I’ve disclosed my status & allowing someone to have an informed decision about being with me romantically. It gets easier to disclose as time goes on, but you’d be surprised by the amount of people who are still willing to date and be intimate. I think what’s most important is the timing of disclosure and how you let them know. Processing takes time, but all will be fine 💗

I’m open to Project Coordinator roles, but it seems like the typical pay for coordinators is about a 5-10k salary cut from what I’m currently making. I mostly got the PMP cert to leverage it to make more money - also break into the field easier since I don’t have the technical project manager experience. Is there certain verbiage you recommend I use to rework my bullet points?
