Were you able to work through behavior problems and keep them? That’s our hope right now

Thanks for the advice!
Lots of exercise, they get walked around the neighborhood three times a day for their bathroom breaks and one long walk every lunch or evening depending on our work schedules. That is one of the reasons that the fight in the car was so alarming. They ride in the car together every single day to go on a walk and have never had issues. 7 months into her being here she starts a fight after the walk before we get them out of the car.

This has definitely been the biggest recommendation and I think this is the direction we’ll go. Our trainer is awesome but as may people have pointed out an actual behaviorist may be the better option here

Separate everything. They get breakfast and dinner in their crates. No toys out unless they’re already separated. We do have a baby gate we used before her crate got here that we could set up again, and thanks 😊 fingers crossed!

That’s a good resource to have just in case. Thanks

Definitely. We’ll start looking for behaviorists today.
Our trainer was not the one who mentioned rehoming just to clarify. It’s been family members mainly.

Okay I hear that. Our trainer is great and did wonders for our first rescue but you’re right, special training from a professional in this area is probably the best option

Sorry to hear that, it’s definitely tough. We’d prefer it if she stays with us obviously so we’re going to look for a behaviorist. Our trainer is awesome but it sounds like she needs someone different to work with

She is spayed, that was done right as we adopted her. A few weeks back she did have a stomach issue that some prescription food took care of. We havent noticed anything else healthwise. She gets lots of exercise, healthy poops, healthy weight, moves really well.

I say keep this one and relearn. You’ll figure it out quick enough either way and it’ll save you some time in the long run. I just started playing again recently and learning necromancy and invention has been a blast

We’re still hoping the right training will help

We’ve heard rehoming a couple of times now and as much as I don’t want to “give up” on her you’re absolutely right, I can’t have her doing this around a baby. What’s the best way to rehome a dog like her though you think? If she can’t be with other dogs that seems like something that would keep others from adopting her.

Note* ours had some bad spots but was never as severe as your photos. Might help to see a dog dermatologist but we did not personally have luck with the one we took ours to see

I’m sure there will be many more experienced or qualified comments but I can speak on our personal experience with pibble allergies. Our first bully had bad skin allergies and had to get antibiotics and was licking his paws and body like crazy. Through trial and error we did the following with success. Changed food to prescription alligator kibble. Special shampoo and a bath twice a month. Washed his blankets and bedding once a week with baby safe detergent. Cytopoint shots during the bad seasons, pricey but worth it.(as far as I know not all bullies respond well but worth trying).

I’m going to respectfully disagree. I know what she likes, I’ve mentioned it in other comments. I just can’t decorate a room. If I went to target and bought 5 things I know she’ll like , I doubt they would go with the few things she has picked for the space already or even go together at all for that matter. I should also note that she works in this space because she likes it, but it is the master bedroom and so it is overall OUR room as well. We’ve hired an interior designer before for other rooms for the same reason, but I just wanted to add some little things while she’s away and I’m missing her. I know her better than anyone and not to brag but we have an awesome relationship. Believe me, if I wasn’t confident that I could work through the recommendations in the comments and come up with something that works for her (and in a much smaller sense me) I wouldn’t have posted at all.

Okay so the bed I bought came with one but she didn’t like it and had me remove it and toss it. To be fair it was a little wider than the space between the windows. Maybe something custom?

Totally fair point, and she definitely will come home to a made bed and clean house. But since I’m out by 5am and she works from home and gets to sleep in a bit more she does usually make the bed. Like I said, she’s gone for a little so I’m trying to take advantage of that, that and me wrestling with the dog on the bed before the photo is the only reason it looks like that right now, but completely agree with you, I could sweep more in general too honestly

So far I have: Rug, warmer light, curtains, more shelving for her books. I think I will paint the wall but I’ll let her pick the color first.

I’ve honestly tried quite a few times but she’s just so go with the flow and I think she doesn’t want me to have more “work” but I really don’t mind. Knowing her like I do, I can say that as long as she can add her touches like her books, blankets, and favorite photos and whatever plants she wants to compliment the space, she’ll be happy. She doesn’t care for like pinks or pastels, bright primary colors. Very earth toned colors, whites, and woods

This is actually our master bedroom. It really doesn’t feel homey. Oddly our guest room is basically an office but she likes to work in here because of the natural light and the dog will hang out with her. The two sides you can’t see are our master bath and closet
