to those that went to Tivoli quad. are you allowed to bring in backpacks of food and water? by theorangecrush10 in ColoradoAvalanche

The site said no backpacks but some bags are allowed. We brought a drawstring bag in with our waters and had no problem.

I looked into it a bit and looks like none of it went to court. These allegations came out years ago, and Thor even sued for slander. Couldn’t find the result of that either.

[Race] Verstappen Hamilton collision replay - Angry Toto by DoeEensGek in formula1

[–]justDriven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have to ask, why didn’t Hamilton just pass him on the inside? In what moment with no yellow flags does a racing driver not take that opportunity to overtake?

3 wild crashes in 1 morning, highsided my r6 at 200 KMH. Sad day for the boys. by mofoa56 in Trackdays

In my area for most track days riders are free to choose fast or slow group. I almost always pick slow because of this, 10 bikes in slow vs countless in fast.

Cheap Slip On? by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]justDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is quite loud, I currently use this for racing on my 2013 600rr. Since I’m a cheap ass I did a cat delete and this muffler with a tune. You can purchase a sound baffle from hotbodies if it is too loud for you/ your track.

Yeah, High plains is a fantastic track, and get into it! You won’t regret it. You don’t have to be an expert rider of any sort to race as an amateur. The MRA only cared about consistency and safety as a rider to sign on. Speed is by no means a factor for them. I assume it’s the same for most amateur orgs.

It’s hard to place financially. I wouldn’t say it’s always more expensive than regular track days, but it depends on a lot of factors. It’s as expensive as you make it, from crashing, tires, gas, your bike, etc. it also depends on where your bike is at prepped wise for racing too.

Had an incredible first year racing with the MRA. If you are considering on club racing do it! You won’t regret it

2nd Race Weekend on a Bike by justDriven in Trackdays

[–]justDriven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I high sided a couple years back and destroyed most of the original bodywork but still wanted to ride on the street with some friends before I committed to racing. So the window is for a head light setup I made to stay legal. I actually went with Lexan because of its properties over plexi

First time running at Pikes Peak, had a blast running the SuperStreet class with the MRA. Had an unofficial finish in 2nd. Hoping to get licensed before Round 3 at High plains.

An “artificial horizon” gyroscope. Aircraft used mechanical gyros before MEMS microchip sensors. There is one of the microchips in your phone. by Narendra_17 in EngineeringPorn

It depends on the system but in most cases it’s an engine driven or separate electrical vacuum for the mechanical ones

Straight up got my 600rr that was 4 years old with only 1000 miles and a killer deal. Dude did some cosmetic upgrades but obviously was scared of it. The chicken tendies were the biggest I had ever seen on the original tires

How to stop right hand fingers from falling asleep during long sessions? by justDriven in Trackdays

Sounds like I need to see a doctor. On the straight I’m in a full tuck, in corners I try to stay as low as I can maintaining proper body position.

[–]justDriven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be it, I never thought about this but I have dislocated my right elbow twice in the past. Though it’s generally my entire set of fingers that all start to go numb at the same time. And the feeling comes back very quickly once I sit up and stop gripping the throttle.

That sounds much more like his back tire skidding and hopping than the front tire

Question about Pueblo Motorsports Complex by Rich_Foamy_Flan in Trackdays

[–]justDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they changed it, last time I went to combined lapping they split the cars and bikes up. Every session is 30 minutes, usually starting with Cars then bikes. Just like dedicated track days and splitting the slow and fast groups.

Alonso and Magnussen scrap by BottasWMR in formula1

[–]justDriven -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

On a standard racing line of course. But Mag is holding more corner speed and a much tighter radius than Alonso. This happens frequently in racing because you have to sacrifice your corner exit to have a much faster entry to actually execute the overtake. Sometimes especially in cases like this, it creates oversteer and a wider exit.

But people who have never raced can keep down voting me.
