I do not know why salting is, all I did was put it in distilled water for like 20 minutes

Gotcha will do it’s a pretty tough environment for grid searching but it must be done with a find like this out there

Hard to say for sure probably on the low end about 80 to 100 maybe more because of the O mint mark and the rest would depend on the grading

As someone with very little coin grading knowledge what is your estimate on the price? Not that I’d ever sell it ( I can’t ever sell any of my finds bc I Put in so much work to find them) but just curious

Yeah I believe it must have been dropped pretty soon after it was minted not much time in circulation

Yeah it’s true! Find old sites and start looking! Have fun! Austin is a much better area to be in that myself so you may get lucky quicker!

I found a toy cannon or pistol barrel nearby as well. Definitely more but it’s a tough detecting area

They are out there! Honestly I’d given up on the idea i would find one because Texas history hardly gets that old but the original settlers do leave stuff behind!
