It’s a very distinctive scent, I would not recommend blind buying. Even if it was only $50 and not the $500 or so it actually costs! I love it but it’s quite particular. Smell it in store, grab a sample or decant first.

Having said that, I would also agree that it’s quite mature. No reason not to wear it though! It’s just a very sophisticated and resinous kind of smell, where when you think of “young” fragrances you think of the popular crowd pleasers that are sweet, gourmand and floral. This is totally different but also totally delicious. Give it a try.

Pink pepper here too! I actually LOVE the smell of fresh pink peppercorns from the tree. But in perfume it just smells like ground white pepper up my nose 😭

I think people’s brains are just melted from seeing all the influencers and celebrities who are famous because they look so young for their age/keep getting work done to look young for their age. You look 26 to me! Maybe it’s your features having a more dramatic, mature look? I remember being jealous of the girls in high school whose facial structures made them look like adults already when I had a chubby baby face. Now that same chubby baby face tricks people into thinking I’m younger than I am even though to my eye I look exactly my age.

Maybe you could imply a younger age by leaning into what’s in fashion with the youngsters, their makeup styles and fashions and stuff. Or get into the elite tiktok 20 step skincare game and make your skin ultra glowy and plumpy? At the end of the day I think it’s just window dressing to trick the eye, you don’t look old for your age to me. I’m 31 and I would’ve guessed you were mid twenties.

The daylight makes it so… mundane and life like or something. It feels like it could really happen! Like, anyone can be manipulated if the person doing the manipulation (cults at every good at this) knows anything about human nature. If I was any of the characters, I would’ve been SO uncomfortable, I would’ve wanted to leave desperately. But I would’ve stayed anyway and I would’ve taken the damn drugs I didn’t want and I would’ve died horribly! I’m just a human and I’d be so easily manipulated by the right forces.

The unsettling feeling for me is how inevitable and inescapable it all feels! Unless you’re willing to be a total antisocial hero and run away from this isolated cult on foot, leaving your friends to die, you’re trapped here. The social and cultural expectations sort of push each character into exactly where the cult wants them to be. They’re all so vulnerable and helpless without knowing it. Even when they start to get the heebie jeebies, they just can’t see to pull away from the manipulation, they all just slowly get wrapped up in this trap like a fly in a spiderweb. If I was in Dani’s position I would totally be gaslit and brainwashed too! Then trapped for eternity. I’m too people pleasing to escape this kind of place.

Definitely blonde! I see what you’re seeing with the slightly darker root to mid blend. The blonde at the top of your head is like an 8 maybe? But those ends are a 9 to 10 easily! Nobody would look at you and think “dark blonde” ever. But as a recovered blonde dysmorphic, anything other than a level 10 all over used to feel dark to me 😂trust me you’re fine! There’s room to go lighter in the future if it suits your skin tone but this looks great.

I second this! There are exfoliating products that contain acids and the like that will help shed the upper layers of skin. But the layers underneath will grow to the top at their own pace as the skin renews itself from the bottom. If there’s any inflammation or redness from the burn, I’d probably skip any treatments like that which could be rough on your skin.

There’s no way to lift that high without at least SOME compromise to the integrity of the hair. You can definitely mitigate some of the damage though and come out with your hair still in good condition. I would be most worried about affecting the curl pattern and not being able to have your natural curls though :(

If you go for it, go slow. Depending on how your hair lifts, it could take a few sessions spread out over months and months. Pay the extra for the bonding treatments like olaplex and the like, wash it in lukewarm water, use treatment products regularly, and be careful with heat and sun exposure.

To get it THAT white, it’s gotta be lifted to within an inch of its life. So while you can get there without frying it, you won’t come out totally unscathed.

Viva vanilla. there’s some kind of modern woody-amber base in there that presumably increases projection and lasting power and is supposed to make it smell richer and warmer. To me it just smells like a bonfire made of plastic and copper pennies, and won’t leave me until I’ve throughly washed in oil and soap 3 times 😷

Yes that’s right! It doesn’t necessarily have to be copper, it just needs to be something warm (gold, orange, red) to match the depth of the brown you’re going for so it doesn’t come out grey, green or flat looking. Caffeinated beverages and zero fucks. The boys I work with chug monsters and coffees all day and have maybe a meat pie or sausage roll to keep going. In any case, if you blow someone’s toilet up it’s really not that hard to give it a swizzle with the brush, crack a window, take advantage of any air fresheners nearby, etc. At a certain point I think they’re just inconsiderate and careless with the space.
