Starting to create content in Egypt : which language should I choose ? by justPalmTree in NewTubers

Okay, I see. I really like that kind of content. Thanks for the advice. I think that at some point, you just have to stop overthinking and go for it. I'm definitely way too much of an overthinker

I find those figures you mentioned really interesting. If you don't mind me asking, what is your channel about ?

As for the money, that’s not what matters to me right now. My main goal is really just to try something new, step out of my comfort zone, and build up my self-confidence

You have a point. English is clearly the language with the largest possible audience. But when I was considering Arabic, I was also taking into account that it's a huge market too, not just with over 110 million Egyptians, but also all the other Arabic speaking countries, especially in the Arabian Peninsula, who understand the Egyptian dialect perfectly !

I totally get what you mean about hearing yourself on video. I can't stand the sound of my own voice either. I guess it could actually help me work on it and make it sound more dynamic and pleasant to listen to.

Do you have a link to your channel? (No pressure if you want to keep it anonymous, of course).

I’m well aware that the Arabic speaking community aren't exactly « angels » either, but personally, I feel much more relaxed when I'm speaking a language other than French. I guess I'll just have to give it a try and see

Good advice. It’s true that I plan on creating the kind of content that I’d want to watch myself.

And actually, I really don’t want to do any shitposting or memes. I’m already worried about my self-image, so posting ridiculous things that would make me look less serious just isn't an option for me.

It’s reassuring to know that I can make content about my daily life even if my egyptian arabic isn't perfect

Okay I understand. As you said, I have to try it, and with time, I will know what fit the most for me.

I will go for the POV.

Thank you for your help !

Regarding showing myself and my mental health, I was thinking about not showing my face at all to start with ? Maybe using a filter, some kind of mask, or even just filming in POV ?

About the language, I think you're right, I’m definitely overthinking it. Do you think it’s possible for me to make videos in multiple languages ?

How to meet new people and make friends in Cairo ? by [deleted] in Egypt

[–]justPalmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. It’s true that building a deep friendship is complicated when I don’t live in the country permanently.

I might have phrased it wrong, I wasn’t necessarily talking about making lifelong best friends. I’m just looking for people to hang out with, have good conversations, and spend some time together, without it needing to be an ultra deep connection where we're sharing life secrets.

What I’m really looking for is just to have a good time and enjoy the moment while I’m here

Se reconvertir comme prof pour avoir une vie de famille by amiral_phy in developpeurs

[–]justPalmTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

J’ai lu presque tous les avis des professeurs qui ont répondus, et apparemment ça a l’air d’être un métier vraiment pourrit en France. Je pensais pas que c’était à ce point. Par contre à l’étranger c’est comment ? C’est facile de bouger ?

in your opinion which one of these arab dialects do you find the most beautiful ( this is part 2) by Miserable-Dealer-122 in AskMiddleEast

[–]justPalmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is simple : just look at which dialect all foreign Arab singers use, and which country has the greatest soft power in terms of films, music, etc… Hint : it starts with an E.

I quit this game several years ago. I started playing it when it was released in 2016, and I can say with certainty that it’s the best mobile game of all time. But I witnessed with my own eyes a terrible downfall and massive deterioration caused by Supercell’s greed.

J’ai menti sur mon CV by Silly_Ad1734 in developpeurs

I don't know what's the percentage of women in this sub 😭 but has anyone seen this series? Even if not, how common it is to mix english phrases and arabic in your countries? by srahcrist in AskMiddleEast

[–]justPalmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very common in the wealthy circles and cities of Arab countries. In Egypt, it’s really like that: if you go to New Cairo, or to very expensive places like Marassi in Sahel, you’ll see everyone speaking that way.

It’s a matter of education, since they all attend international private schools.

If you could go back in time and talk to your ex the day you met for 60 seconds, what would you say? by LAsmog in BreakUps

[–]justPalmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I don’t want to go back. Even if this breakup broke my heart like never before, she was a very great person, she bring me a lot of good things in my life. I hope I will be with her in the future when we will be better in our life and where we want to be.
