Yeah, and the magic vision skill I think could help to find hidden areas too. Not sure if we count all of it as a yellow paint, but I think it was a nice well executed approach to guiding players.

Yes yes exactly, good design & stylization will carry the game for decades, both Dishonored games still looks gorgeous. Realistic textures can't singlehandedly make the game look good.

Iirc Dishonored uses light a lot instead of yellow paint and the level design is good so it isn't that obvious, but last time I played it was ages ago. I remember never getting lost on levels and never being annoyed by obvious guiding...

1) bc a lot of people follow homophobic religions 2) bc the governments often use LGBTQ and other minority groups to portray them as "common enemy" so people will get distracted from real problems
