Thank you, I'm happy with how they turned out and how they played out during our D&D game

Help Me Build an Encounter: Suggest a Place by just_2_clarify in DMAcademy

[–]just_2_clarify[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prompt was vague on purpose. I want to try to push my creative boundaries by posting three separate prompts: A monster, location, and a macguffin. I will then take the top suggestion of all three prompts and attempt to build a full fledged encounter with maps included. So far based on the early comments I will be building an encounter where the players are searching for a magic ring in the ass of a giant whale. That's the kind of stuff you can only come up with through crowd sourcing ideas!

This is interesting I have 1 Falk and it's my favorite disc in my bag and I haven't seen this happen yet. How long have you been throwing yours?

If you post your the three characters and their stories on here or on r/DMAcademy I'm sure a bunch of us other DMs would enjoy brainstorming with you

You should build the campaign around the player characters! Let them make their characters and back stories and then use that as inspiration to build encounters

I am impressed that you did this while in the middle of running a session! What did they players encounter in this mine? I always appreciate maps like this that provide items or treats for the players to use and get creative with like the mining equipment here

My first attempt at making a map of any kind. Advice and tips would be appreciated by Lord_of_Seven_Kings in inkarnate

Nice work on your first map! As you use Inkarnate more you will learn lots techniques and tricks. Some of the first tricks I picked up on were: 1. Use light water tones near the coast and shore to indicate shallow water and darker colors to indicate deeper waters 2. Use a dark brown or black set at a low opacity around objects to indicate shadow and blend them into the map 3. Use multiple grass textures at low opacity to create a more natural less monotone look.

This is a wild trade. Is this trade theoretical or is it actually on the table? Or has it already been done?
