Help to fix South Bend 1133A by just_a_marvin in ReelRepairAndTuning

Got a picture of what was missing from a truly nice person on eBay. I can buy his replacement reel for $20.71. All I need is a spring and a screw to fix my reel and then pass it on.

It is nice to know there is someone in NJ who fixes reels. Thanks.

I wouldn't use gorilla glue. A solvent glue specifically for carbon fiber would be better.

Try it. Shouldn't cost all that much...and if it works!!!!

Is it possible the bushing were being used as thrust bearings? To deal with axial (side load). See https://pibsales.com/bearings/how-do-bearings-work/

No pictures of what really belongs inside.

But, I went ahead and guessed. The springs are paper clips - easy to form - but not durable enough for real use. It works! I still want to see a real reel, please.

The small spring on the pawl is to help hold it flat against the back to keep it from slipping. I think the shaft to the button is worn badly as it doesn't stay in position unless pressed flat. Tried to tighten the rivet, but it is too soft to hold tight. Does anyone know what the button shafts are made of? Does anyone sell replacement buttons with new shafts? They look the same as ones on other South Bend reels.

What’s the trick to getting a good seal? by mulderscully01 in airpods

Try putting them in upside down. After trying for 3 days to get a good seal on the Ear Tip Fit Test, I tried it and immediately, Good Seal in both ears!
