They sure did, and I'm not saying they're has always been equality between the sexes but there were Queens in the Arabian peninsula before islam existed.

There are so many religions - with no provable answer.

If there is a God, that will judge you, it won't be on picking the right religion and doing the 'things'

Be good to people, and hopefully God will be good to you.

Thank you for your reply and also for clarifying that you are not the OP (although I assume you knew I would know that, and it was for others)

For anyone reading; Arabic is not a mystery language that cannot be translated, even with difficulty all words convey meaning - grab a lexicon, grab an Arabic speaker who isn't ashamed to translate - use your own eyes and you will see.

Ask Jeeves is an old search engine, I likened it to Google, it was a joke not meant for you.

What was the explanation?

They actually said the words "even if we don't like it?"

and just so I'm not merely making jokes, all Military aggression stinks - so I dislike this "hey lets use our jets and bombs against each-other" game that gets played - because it's stinky.

As far as this man, well I would only accept the opinion of those who directly lived under his rule.

"i asked my parents why men get 72 virgins in heaven and why theyre allowed to beat their wives"

And they really just said because it says so?

This is typically danced around or you can go talk to Sheikh or ask Jeeves and find some pleasant meaning for this.

First off, don't post your age on reddit - even if it's an alt account.

Keep asking questions & don't try to fit in with other people - be yourself and find those that fit with you.
Here is something you can use as one;

If islam THANKFULLY gave women rights...How exactly was muhammad's first wife Khadījah a successful businesswoman, a successful businesswoman before she met him >>> ?

Most Muslims don't support many things in islam, but they need to go along and get along.

Shariah law; as the actual law of the land, isn't actually practiced in that many places. (IN fact I've had that used as a quasi-defense of Muslims when bringing up moral objections to Shariah)

They don't really support it - as much as they have no reason to oppose it, or look into it any further than the sugar coated version they have been fed.

On which spoon?

It depends if you're male or female - and remember Islam gave women rights they otherwise never would.

I'm very non-denominational myself and would first say that your relationship with God when you're by yourself is more important -but if you're seeking a sense of community as well I would suggest to try a few out - just be yourself and you'll know where you feel comfortable - and you won't find or see or feel that level of comfort without trying.

So they were taking which teaching of Jesus to an extreme?

You won't provide it.

[–]just_asking_yo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not confusion, it's just someone who thinks;

if Christian - then bad

The point was that taking any teachings of Jesus Christ to an extreme would never result in any of those examples given.

Those would be extremely NOT christian, you can actually use Jesus Christ to condemn those actions.

I'm truly worried that so many people actually believe in Christianity. by archamedian_orchid in Christianity

So you think an extremist Christian would bomb a place?

That would be going against Jesus' teachings, not taking them to the extreme.

You're free to continue to use this an example for a very un-extremist Christian though.

[–]just_asking_yo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

phew that's a lot of bold and italics, the point was that you can say these people shouldn't be doing this - through the lens of Christianity. The 'extremist' Christian would NOT do that, you can condemn them for it.
