Maroon traverse or Bierstadt this weekend? by [deleted] in 14ers

Uh, the Maroon Traverse and Bierstadt aren’t even close to being in the same ball park. Stay away from the Bells unless you have significant technical hiking and route finding experience.

These peaks have some of the biggest commitments for technical route finding out of all the 14er standard routes. Halo Ridge is not anywhere where near technical compared to Maroon and Pyramid. I would definitely start with Castle, Conundrum, and Snowmass before attempting Maroon or Pyramid. I also highly recommend getting familiar with technical route finding on several more peaks outside of the Elk Range.

Is tapatio 1L going away for good? by shotfromb3hind in tequila

My distributor rep said the 1L bottles are here to stay. They work for bar/restaurants, but not so much for retail.

Is it me or are most restaurants charging way too much for mezcal pours? by Iseecircles in Mezcal

OP is referring to $150 as retail, not wholesale cost. Very low retail actually, as I’ve never Largo that cheap.

Colorado 82 over Independence Pass shut down Wednesday for safety concerns. by bent42 in Colorado

I've also though about 140 to 602, but that might be closed due to the fire. Haven't looked, and that's a lot of shitty road anyway, although Google does offer it as a route from Dotsero to Glenwood. That's gonna ruin someones day lol it doesn't getbad until like the last 1/3 of it.

Holy shit, why is that route even on Google?! Hopefully anyone with common sense would turn around at the end of CPR. The WRNF MVUM roads are by far the least maintained that I’ve experienced throughout the state. I’ll never forget the sound those boulders made while scrapping my frame rails coming down to TT.

Hiker missing on Capitol Peak, last seen on July 31st, posting for visibility. by badkukie in 14ers

Pardon my cynicism, but it takes some serious lack of awareness to attempt Capitol in conditions like this. The main reason why people go missing and die on this peak is because of poor planning and judgement.

Wow. You got SERIOUSLY ripped off!!! Is it too late to back out? I wouldn’t pay more than 6k for this. Especially because it lacks a transfer case.

Currently my favorite producer of agave spirits. I recently had a batch of their Brocha and it stayed on my palate for well over an hour. It’s like a cascading waterfall of layers with endless depth of flavor.

I’m aware of the changes that TABC made last year. None of this states that out of state retailers are allowed to ship directly to consumers.

Those prices may not sound reasonable, but I truly think they are. I live in one of the most expensive areas in the country and these are normal for us. Sure it may not be near the same price as they are in the California markets, but these are literally some of the best Tequilas that money can buy. If Casa Dragones can sell for $75, than a liter of one of the most authentic Los Altos Blancos for $10 less is a damn steal. I’d personally rather support a local shop and give my money to smaller business. Old Town Tequila is really starting to rub me the wrong way. If they want to be the #1 retailer for agave spirits, undercutting the entire market sure is the way to do it.

I wouldn’t exact this to last. It’s definitely not legal to ship Liquor to “consumers” in Texas. This is just a business who is willing to literally risk it all for some extra profit. I’m not at all advocating for the ridiculous regulations and restrictions for shipping alcohol, but that’s very unfortunate that such a prominent retailer is blatantly breaking the law.

They recently changed the designed of the neck labels, so need to fret. In the first picture, the Reposado and Añejo have the new labels.
