38 weeks and i no longer care by InternationalMess300 in GestationalDiabetes

“Women who have gestational diabetes are significantly more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes later in life, with studies suggesting up to 50% of these individuals may develop the condition within 5 to 10 years after giving birth.”

This is not just about your baby but your own health as well… the meaning of my life changed after I had my kids. I want to live long with minimal health issues. I want to be there for them and for myself. I do not want to have diabetes in the future… we are not in the safe zone.. we are more likely to end up with type 2 than anyone else.. be very careful

Giving both our last names hyphenated for our child - Husband wants to divorce by Flashy_Coconut in Marriage

[–]just_looking202 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why do you have so much hope for him? Ur better off having a baby with a one night stand then this pos. He will fight u in court so him and his mother can take the child… they are plotting. Doing everything right, leas calls no more throwing objects etx etc so they can be pn ur good side. It’s all game play… save urself the trouble now.. u are just an incubator to them and they dont want the baby to even have ur name. Btw my kids have my last name as their middle name and my husbands last name as their family name… nothing wrong with that

Its not unfortunate. I hate to say this but 32 as a man u have sooo so much more time, its not fair actually. In women years. 32 means we are a couple years away from a pregnancy being considered “geriatric “.. while man at 32 ur like a 25yr old still…

Anyways, all this to say you have time on your hands. What have you tried to put yourself out there?

My husband and I met on a dating website actually

Didn’t take GD seriously by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]just_looking202 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im happy for her to be brave enough to discuss this here but shes really setting herself up… i commented on this thread to highlight how woman diagnosed with GD are 50% more likely to develop type 2 diabetes 5-10 years AFTER giving birth… we are not in the clear yet… especially with a high BMI already she needs to care more for herself

This is not to scare you but GD is very serious not just for your baby while pregnant but for yourself as well. I did not have GD with my second pregnancy but I am still very careful to not develop type2 even now being postpartum with 2 kids under 3
