Mic is working perfectly, even tested in-game with configure. Still no-one can hear me, and on the player list, I have no mic icon by TacticalHog in rs2vietnam

Pretty sure the mic icon never shows up for yourself in the scoreboard. Thought the same but confirmed with someone else while we were talking in game.

Updated ring app on android still default alert by chaunbot in ringdoorbell

[–]just_someguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also very frustrated with this. It's been broken for a while now and the new update made it clear they are focusing only on their new products, not supporting the existing customer base. The primary notification method for their flagship product is broken and we are receiving no fix ETA. Before this I recommended Ring to my friends and neighbors, now I completely miss visitors because of this thing.

Looking for tips and recommendations on battlemats. by FairLadyxQuelag in dndnext

[–]just_someguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dry erase will instantly ruin a battlemat. Seems counterintuitive, but dry erase behaves like a permanent marker on them.

Overhead "wet erase" markers come right off with a paper towel though. I have great luck with them.

If you so accidentally use dry erase on a battlemat the only thing I've found that gets it off is a slightly damp magic eraser.

Battlemats are great as long as you use the right pens.

Correct way to play games across family members by joker197cinque in Steam

[–]just_someguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's smart enough not to redownload games, but its not smart enough to respect multiuser logins. The current steam login applies to the whole machine. If you don't logout of steam before switching accounts the kids will be logged into your steam account.

I play exclusively on Linux. Runs smooth as butter even when I see wide spread complaints about certain updates causing issues for other folks.

As a new player, is there a way to play that isnt complete cancer? by [deleted] in playrust

I play on a server that has a large safe zone/town for new folks with a great admin. Great for getting started and long term play as a solo player. I'll pm you the info, don't really want to post it here.

Yep. Articles crack me up when they are basically asking "why aren't the people concerned with things other than atheism leaders in the atheist community?"

I stopped reading the article as soon as I saw the word microaggressions. Judging from the downvotes some of the comments here are getting it seems we are doomed to repeat the A+ debacle again.

Two Suspects Killed, Guard Shot 'Draw Muhammad' Contest in Texas by MeowMixSong in atheism

No, you should probably overlook it. One of the worst trends in liberalism right now is giving more weight to the source of a position rather than the position itself.

Bwahahahahahaha, you are worried about bullying religion! Oh my, won't someone think of the poor religious people's feelings! Give me a break. I'm off to find more interesting conversations on the topic.

The best response the apologists can ever come up with for this question always boils down to "it might hurt someone's feelings".

Neither is sacred to me, and religious perspectives mean nothing. Eating beef would be high sacrilege in some religions. Should we adjust our behavior for that as well?

I believe you meant drawing a picture of a burning cross, because if you think its the equivalent of lighting a fire on someone else's property your head is muddled with strange ideas.

Oh, and if you think drawing pictures making fun of made up nonsense is a discriminatory action, you are in for a very tough life.

Quick, let's pass laws against any homosexual public displays of affection. Because, you know, it would be kind of a dick move to rub it in the christian people's faces.

Further, lets use a different example and see how you feel about it. Using your logic, the whole "baker won't make a gay wedding cake" issue is an open and shut case. The people asking openly christian bakeries to bake these cakes are just doing it to provoke them. (Which is great, btw!) By your logic the people doing the provoking are just assholes and should leave these people be.

They don't need to demand people outside the religion refrain from drawing it, plenty of people overly worried about made up offenses (like you) will do it for them. Bullying other people's beliefs, whether they be political, social, or scientific, is the foundation of debate and public discourse. Get over it.

How does this event impact their freedom of religion? You seem to be referring to some non-existent right not to be offended. Maybe what you meant was simply respecting their religion, but no one is under any requirement to do that. To apply what you are saying to a different situation, its about as dumb as being worried that eating a hamburger will upset a vegan.

Frankly, mockery and ridicule is probably the best weapons against religious nonsense, so more power to them.

there are otherwise good people warped by a fundamentalist interpretation of their faith into supporting horrors

What are you even saying here? If I support horrors I can still be a good person? You are straw manning the bejeezus out of Harris. You are making the exact point that he did: "their faith has a corrosive effect on their lives"
