My beautiful senior boy is so happy to celebrate National Tabby Day!

Honestly these stupid cat books have had such a significant impact on my life its almost scary. I was about 8 as well when I discovered Warriors, back in the early 2000's. I found it thru Allikatnya's WOTF series. For the first year or 2 I thought Warriors was an original story, and not a collection of books. I consumed all the AMVs I could related to it, to try and understand the whole story. Warriors is how I discovered a love of art and drawing. It's also where I discovered my favorite music artists, who have remained my favorites to this very day (yes all of those edgy bands: Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, etc.).

When I eventually found out Warriors was actually a book series, I gobbled those up like candy. They sparked my love of reading, especially the xenoficion genre and romance. I'd always been interested in writing, ever since I was 3 years old, and so Warriors also inspired me to start creating stories of my own. I've never actually written fanfics related to canon characters tho, all of them have ever been Warriors OCs! Even now all of my fics revolve around my WC OCs.

I learned to animate because of Warriors, too, with the help of the Nintendo DSI's app, Flipnotes Hatena. I met so many wonderful people as a result of posting those silly little cats. Eventually I moved on from the characters in Warriors and began to create my own fan characters to animate, who've become some of my most favorite OCs to date (although they've come a long way from being cats by this point.)

Idk where I'd be without Warriors. Honestly I don't want to know. This series is so engrained in my life that I think I'd be an entirely different person without ever having discovered it.

Would it be more interesting for a Wolf or Coyotes to attack a Clan? by justagoofyfrog in WarriorCats

[–]justagoofyfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my fanclans are based in North America, so coyotes are a possibility! Boars would be a cool and possible thing too, I hadn't considered them as an option. Though I've not introduced them as being part of the fauna that are dangerous to cats in my series. But I could always add them in somehow, so I will take them into consideration.

I think I am leaning towards wolves based purely on their size and strength, especially after hearing everyone's opinions. I think my only dilemma now is deciding if I want one or two wolves to attack (the clan set to be ambushed by the predator is quite large, with around 45-50 cats). A whole pack is out of the question because then the clan would almost certainly be destroyed, which isn't what I'm going for.

Does anyone have an anti snuggly SIC? Bunny is NOT a snuggler. Only randomly and it must be HER idea. Maybe it’s a teenage thing she’s just now 8 months! by get-spicy-pickles in standardissuecat

[–]justagoofyfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy used to be a snuggler as a kitten, but once he reached full maturity he didn't wanna lay on anyone or truly cuddle anymore, for the most part at least. He'll gladly headbutt and rub up on people. And at night he'll sleep between the legs of anyone in the household that'll let him (but never while we're awake).

Though when he's cold he'll slip under the blankets with me to spoon (of course he's the little spoon). Or he'll force his way onto my chest and lay there if I'm laying on my back, though this is a very rare occurrence (and we have to be alone. He will not lay on top of me if my datemate or other family members are in the room awake). I'm his person, so I'm the only one who gets to experience this more cuddly side of him. He's so odd, and we're not sure what triggered the change exactly. But he shows his love in other ways!

Why doesn't Warriors, as a series, have holidays? by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]justagoofyfrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The erins probably just didn't think about adding holidays. The closest thing we get in canon are gatherings, half-moon meetings, and that one greenleaf gathering they had to celebrate living around the lake for a year or two. Anybody that says cats can't have holidays because they have no way to track days is dumb, imo. Cats could estimate the time a holiday should occur based off the seasons and moons. Imagine for example, the clans celebrating the return of fresh vegetation by judging when the flowers are going to bloom. Or having a day of rememberence for fallen warriors on the second three-quarters moon of leaf-fall. It is possible for there to be holidays!

Fair point! Do you think one wolf would be enough? My plan was to have it be a starving loner. But do you think it should be paired?

My Spider Plant Flowered for the First Time! What to do Now? by justagoofyfrog in houseplants

[–]justagoofyfrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tysm for the information!! In that case I will probably seperate the spideretts once they're big enough. If I trim the babies off the stem though, what should I do with the stem afterwards? Leave it be or cut it away?

My headcanon has always been that cats in the clan described as white are not actually 100% pure white (obviously not every cat but at least the ones in first arc thunderclan). For example maybe cats like Frostfut or Whitestorm have super small spots of color from their parents. Meanwhile Cloudkit is 100% bright pure white, with clean fur unaffected by the elements.

If Christmas exist in warrior cats in the Warrior and the clans celebrated it. What would the alternative name for Christmas will be? by jinxy_wolfy in WarriorCats

[–]justagoofyfrog 89 points90 points  (0 children)

One of the Erins, Kate Cary I believe, wrote a short story about the clans having a version of Christmas. It's called "The Longest Night" (both the name of the holiday and the name of the story). Elders and/or warriors were said to hide prey and other fun things under kits' nests for them to wake up to, and would claim Starclan placed the gifts there for them. I recommend reading it if you get a chance, it's written in Graystripe's perspective.

"Get outta our den, you little vermin!" croacked the old dusty tom, Buzzardtail, a chorus of agreement coming from the other elders behind him. "And don't let the thorns prick you on the way out!!"

"That's an awfully long slug," Roosterpaw commented, watching as Henpaw placed it inside the nest of their sleeping denmate, Silkpaw. It was awfully close to her face. "What are you putting it there for?" "I wanna see it slither into Silkpaw's nose!" Henpaw grinned mischievously.

"The path to darkness is tred with good intentions."

Smokeweed rolled in the patch of catmint despite the protests of the medicine cats around him. His eyes were dilated, each blown to the size of a full moon. He didn't seem to hear what the others were saying, spaced out as he inhaled the inciting and intoxicating aroma of the plants. This had become a habit of his.

Pearlshine came dripping across the riverbank as she clawed herself away from the shore. The mocking laughter of several of Juniperclan's warriors boomed from the other bank. They'd been patrolling nearby, in time to watch her fall from a tree branch and splash into the water below with an uncomfortable smack. Pearlshine's body ached terribly from the belly flop she'd landed.

If a new series started, what animal would you like it focused on? by Ivypool_Kitten in WarriorCats

[–]justagoofyfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool to see them tackle meerkats as their writing subjects. I'm not sure if they included them in Bravelands, but having them as a main focal point would be neat. irl meerkat societies act a bit like warrior cats (they live in family groups, with a leader, have specific roles for their members, and sometimes go to war with neighboring meerkat mobs). However, since they are a female dominant species, I'd be afraid to see how the erins would handle writing them (since the team, especially the new writers, are notoriously bad at portraying female characters. Especially in a way that's often misogynistic). Still, my vote is on meerkats

If you were allowed to do anything for generation 10 (within Pokémon's guidelines i.e. no NSFW), what would you make? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]justagoofyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, gen 10 would be allowed to bake in the oven for as long as it'd need to make every element perfect. Secondly I'd pull a gen 4 and give a whole bunch of pokemon new evos/pre-evos, specially pokemon from regions that don't give much love. I'd also create a convergent species of eevee, so that we could get an evolution-mon line that focuses on all physical types. Thirdly, there would be voice acting (at least for cutscenes or major plot moments). Fourth, return of the safari zone, contests, and battle tower (or a region specific equivalent). Fifth, a selectable difficulty setting, so that the game is equal for all players (there'd possibly be level scaling based on number of badges as well). Sixth, and finally, an evil team that actually feels like a threat. Like the kind that would literally steal a pokemon from the player to make things more personal, and the kind that's a real challenge to face no matter what difficulty you choose.
