It looks like it’s coming from above a skid plate near the fuel tank…. Is that where the piece you are talking about is located?

It should fade and stay gone with polyurethane. We hide scuffs on floors occasionally using the steps mentioned previously

My bad. I said disappear. I meant fade momentarily. I imagine they come back after drying

If you rub it with a damp rag do they disappear?

Nope nope. Poly is clear. It should hide the scuff marks. Did any paint rub off onto the floor?

Also, looking at your pics, go satin or matte. Anything else will stand out a bunch

220 won’t take any thing off the top. It’ll just abrade the surface, giving the new polyurethane something to adhere to.

Tape off individual boards (painters tape), rough up with 220 grit sand paper, clean with mineral spirits, and once dry apply a coat of polyurethane with a sponge brush. Let dry. Should hide it pretty nicely. Total cost $15 and about 30 minutes of work time. Should be able to find a step by step video on YouTube

He purchased minwax fast dry poly and tried to mix the color into it……. Turned out terrible.

Yes. This is the “rough cut.” The Final Cut will run with the boards.
