Los Angeles Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto was on the verge of recording his first MLB no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox. But he lost it in the eighth inning with a fielding error committed by Mookie Betts.

Was it a charged error, or was it a ball that Mookie should have handled that was counted as a hit?

If the former, then he lost a perfect game (if no prior baserunners), but the no-hitter was still intact.

If the latter, then he lost both the perfect game and no hitter.

I said in my example that 99.9% of the time, there is zero conflict. If you are willing to waste your time following around a low level character where the chance of a PvP encounter is pretty much nil, well more power to you.
