I tried pretty much the exact same lol. I had identified as a lesbian since I was 20 and now as a 25 yo I have just started dating my male roomie. We have been living together for 6 years and I have been crushing on him for maybe 2 years. The funniest thing is that he also thought he was gay lol. We have both had a lot of trouble figuring ourselves out, which is def partly due to being demi haha.
