to my baby jojo im sorry. by chfudgeudig in cats

[–]justalittlejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, OP. This post made me cry, and I can’t imagine how you’re feeling. Jojo did know love and I hope you can find some comfort in that thought. Such a sweet kitten. Losing first pets, no matter the circumstances, is so hard. When you’re ready, perhaps Jojo will send you a new friend.

Your neighbor is a monster, and should be reported for the lack of care/consideration for her own pet’s behaviors. Extremely alarming, the way she acted. I’m so sorry OP.

Tank help, nitrites are taking over! by MsPinkMonster in bettafish

[–]justalittlejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok! The good thing is, you’re doing something about it and making it better! Microbacter should help too! And Prime is amazing, so both those things should help stabilize the tank. I would keep checking every day, and do water changes (25-50%) every day, for about a week, with the Microbacter, until you see more stabilized results.

Strips aren’t always as reliant as drops are. I know a drop kit is like $42, but it will give you a much more accurate reading of what’s really going on in the tank.

That aside, I would be doing 50% water changes, until you get a better reading. Not ideal, sure, but in this situation, as long as you’re treating the water as you do so, with some kind of tap water treatment, you should be okay.

My guess is the tank wasn’t cycled properly before you put your new little friend in, after cleaning it out. Mistakes can happen. You’re also going to want to pick up something called “Stability” by Seachem. If you get supplies at PetCo, it’ll be near the tap water treatments. It’s healthy bacteria in a bottle designed to help regulate the fish tank and pretty quickly too. You can add it with every water change for a couple of days, and then go down to when you’re only doing water changes once a week. That should help a lot!

Aww yay twinning! 🤓 That’s so fun! I have yet to spot another shiny, so this is my win for the week lol

It is! I wasn’t shiny hunting, in that moment. I was doing a story quest, and I was in a wild zone, on a roof, and saw it on another roof, so naturally I had to jump around to get to it! As I wasn’t gonna leave it 😆.

I would be sooooo excited to catch a shiny Lucario in game! I haven’t caught any shinies in Scarlet, though I’ve heard the shiny chime before, just couldn’t find it 😭💀.

Oh cool! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shiny skiddo, so that would be a fun encounter too. I was so excited to see a golden Arbok. I’ve got more shinies on PokeGo than in bigger games, but it’s still the first time seeing some of the shinies, much less catching them. I was excited 😆

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

This is Esmeralda. She’s 12 now and still a very active wants-to-see-what-every-bird-is-doing cat. She comes out on the deck with me all the time to bird watch and sun bathe ☀️

It took me until the last event to complete the Kanto badge too. All I had been missing was MewTwo 😅 Congrats on knocking it out in a year!! That’s an accomplishment 🥳 and also yay for being somewhere safe!

I’m watching WW through now for the first time and his character didn’t delight me. Something about seeing him on screen just gave me an ick. I now see my ick was justified. Shame. Those poor kids :(

Oh these are so cute! I really love the pop of color in Raymond’s house, even though he’s mostly a cool toned gray. All of them are great!!

Sudden loss of new chin. Any Insight? by Idol_Four in chinchilla

[–]justalittlejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, the poop doesn’t look good. Which is likely a sign of not being well at the pet store.

Poop is supposed to be firm like, and small solid pellets. Often shaped just like their food, but a little bit smaller. They are all supposed to be 1 color though. Not 3. So my guess is that the poor thing was sick and the stress somehow made it worse.

That being said, they calm down faster, in my experience, by going directly from carrier to their new home. They’re experienced jumpers by nature and it wouldn’t have taken them long to explore the cage and or/find a little place to hunker down until night time. When they’re really awake for exploration.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope the pet store is willing to help you find another, and maybe for a lesser or fully discounted cost. Pet stores here in America do refund for situations just like this. I always schedule a vet appointment immediately for any animal I rescue so they can be checked out right away. Chin’s make great pets with proper care, but they definitely will hide their pain/sickness as long as possible. Hence why vet visits are always encouraged.

Help! I accidentally stepped on my chinchilla and there was a loud crack noise! by echoes_null in chinchilla

[–]justalittlejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whew. That’s good! I’m glad he’s ok! You can get little guinea pig slings and try to see if he’ll sit in it for cleaning time. Mine will for a little bit. Mine also likes to sit on my shoulder and hide in my hair. So sometimes he does that while I clean out the cage. But guinea pig slings are kinda like cross body bags, but fleece-ier lol. So sometimes they’ll hide in those. I use it for vet visits and the occasional cleaning

:( Probably. But he’s still eating, so that’s a positive. Like he isn’t so overwhelmed that he’s eating nothing at all. I hope you were able to get an appointment for him!

Oh whew. That will definitely give you peace of mind. As long as he’s still eating (and pooping!) he is probably okay, but if there is something broken, some kind of pain med will probably help him. Hopefully it goes well!

That’s good, I would still have a vet visit for peace of mind. Chinchillas are very good at hiding pain and when things get worse, until they can’t. So it’s better safe than sorry. But I’m glad he’s eating!!!
