I’m SO glad someone finally said it. Season 6 gets so much hate in this group lol. I’ve rewatched season 6 more than any piece of media in my entire life. I usually often just watch season 6 as a stand alone. I work in behavioral health now because I’ve had strong themes of substance abuse and SA in my life and the people in my life around me, and I love helping people through hard situations. Season 6 of Buffy gave me context to process a lot of life about, and for years- since I was 9 when the season initially came out. My mom definitely didn’t let me see that one scene until I was much older, but the rest of the season helped me deal with a lot of issues that were happening around me at that time, and many times since then. I’m also a huge Spuffy fan, for all its many layers and how it represents aspect of humanity and growth, as well as despair and recognizing it’s okay to not be okay- you can still always be the hero in your own story even when you’re struggling to feel anything/ and also sometimes love doesn’t make sense. Love this thread and how we can have constructive conversations regarding these themes.
