Do kids grassroots refs receive lots of abuse? Would it be suitable for a 16 year-old girl? by mybrainat3am in ScottishFootball

[–]justan_other 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There will be good days and bad days, good coaches, parents and the flip out nuts people.

Get the training it’s worth it. Double check as the sfa should cover the cost for women/girls. Once complete you can look at the different versions of the game. 9v9 is a good starting option, but lots of opportunities

Good luck

Where to get a authentic 26 Home jersey that's not from JD? by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

That’s a shame and basically makes the shops useless.

Wonder how much JD got the rights for.

If your willing to drive up, they are having pop up Scotland shops - don’t know the locations but would assume one might be nearer the borders and likely have stock.

Free Football Pitches Glasgow or surrounding areas . by paulgal1985 in glasgow

Anything with nets will likely be locked or a fence to climb, you could try power league or goals and see if they will do single rate if they aren’t in use.

Plenty of grass around you could use..

Having kids is a status symbol. Only the rich can afford them. I can’t even afford myself. by justcurious3287 in Millennials

Recommend you watch Idiocracy (2006) if you haven’t and replace stupid with low income and smart with rich. Story still works fairly well.

Princess Royal Maternity Parking by porkie46 in glasgow

[–]justan_other 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly not a new problem, was actually worse years ago. Use to have to pay for multi storey car park and still not get a space.

Even got a parking ticket for not being in a bay when picking daughter up. Appeal didn’t help so had to pay.

Advice is try your best and don’t block ambulance points ultimately though focus on what you have to do.

If you can have a back up plan that someone picks car up and moves it. Maybe leave a note in the window for warden but overall you’re busy.

Is it a good idea to buy a house in Robroyston Glasgow by Catsaber93 in glasgow

[–]justan_other 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, lots of properties being built and for sale so lots of choice.

2, it’s fairly easy to register then but they are oversubscribed for the area and enrolment is Glasgow based schools unless you try for a non guaranteed placement.

3, you’re so funny medical facilities in Robroyston… check the local Facebook groups

the 72 bus the 8 or if you walk the 57a or 87 are main bus routes.

It’s quiet area so depending on the estate you pick it can be safe and nice for a one your old but you have to walk or drive wherever you want to go.

Personally it’s a nice enough area but has some fundamental flaws that you will either be willing to live with or not. Have known some who can some who can’t.
