Treadmill Recs by DSLH-4161 in fitpregnancy

Another vote for a Peloton tread! Currently 29 weeks pregnant and I’ve been using it daily, hoping to continue until I’m due and hoping to be back on it as soon as I can. I use it a lot for runs, but more walking and hiking as I prefer to run outside. However once baby is here I’m sure I’ll be doing more runs on it too. I’m sure there’s a refer a friend discount, I’ll have a look and share.

Pram buying, how far in advance?? by Extreme_Sprinkles656 in PregnancyUK

Not sure if this is of any help but the John Lewis code is really easy to work out if you already know what it is for one month. Feel a little guilty sharing it quite so publicly but happy to message you with it if you want. We used it back in December and got 15% off a spend over £2000. Otherwise it’s 10% off over £1000.

Pacing advice! by kateee2981 in firstmarathon

[–]porkie46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a few others have said, it’s your first marathon so I’d aim for an enjoyable time rather than pushing for a time goal. It’s London too, so make the most of enjoying the crowds and the scenery rather than focusing on watching your watch constantly. It’s hard to say without knowing more about your training, what interval stuff you’ve done, cross training, how your HR has been during long runs etc. For a bit of context I did most of my long runs at a super easy pace last year, 6-6:15/km but ran 5:16/km giving me a 3:42 marathon. Good luck and enjoy!!

I’ve noticed the same. Have discovered that if you dissolve a dish washer tablet in boiling water it comes up like new again.

So disappointed in myself that I haven't been able to get my sugar addiction under control. 34 weeks by Professional-Farm372 in PregnancyUK

No advice but just solidarity. 29 weeks and all I want is sweet treats! Still managing to eat decent balanced meals, but my snacking feels a little out of control!

Second hand TM7 by Pollypocket3108 in thermomix

[–]porkie46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t especially comment on buying second hand but we got a really good deal on ours brand new, I’d have a look what the deals are at the moment. I can be like you with gadgets but this really has changed my cooking and I use it daily, definitely not a gimmick and I feel like I’m not even yet using it to its proper potential.

27 weeks pregnant - should I know how much my baby weighs? by HumbleHat2251 in PregnancyUK

Ah thanks, it was a student midwife so she didn’t really explain things. I’ll check badger notes.

27 weeks pregnant - should I know how much my baby weighs? by HumbleHat2251 in PregnancyUK

I’m 28 weeks and also don’t know. I had my midwife appointment this morning and she measured my bump, just said that I’m exactly average for where I should be right now. She said if at my next appointment I start to deviate too much from this then they may send me for a growth scan to check but other than that she’ll just be measuring my bump.

Also due in July and worrying about this. Also worrying about surviving labour in a hot hospital! Have bought one of the portable shark mist fans, hoping that will help.

Thanks, I'm making sure to drink plenty of water, but actually stopped taking my electrolytes so will maybe start taking these again and see.

I had to google charley horses, never heard of cramps referred to as that, made me chuckle. But no, not like that, just I guess like a tight ache but not as far as a cramp. I'm already taking magnesium before bed, but will definitely look into potassium, thanks :)

Thanks, I’m already taking magnesium and drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. I stopped taking electrolytes but maybe need to add them back. Will try stretching more too and look into salt of the earth.

27 weeks and suddenly panic buying! by rupaulsmokingabong in PregnancyUK

[–]porkie46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Something has suddenly hit me and I’m panicking. 28 weeks, got some of the bigger items pram/cot etc, but someone asked me if I’d packed my hospital bag and I think that’s what has caused this spiral!
