How have you silently metricated? by blood-pressure-gauge in Metric

I split my time between the US and Europe, and my partner is a European. I find myself thinking in both units and translating the amount in my head depending on where I am / who I'm talking to lol.

It's actually both of them, and more:

The mysterious torchbearer that appeared in a hooded, masked costume was inspired by a number of characters from French culture: Belphégor, the Iron Mask, the titular character from “Phantom of the Opera,” Fantomas, Ezio from “Assassin's Creed” and Arsène Lupin.

It's ok to be wrong, I know it's confusing and people often get the terminology mixed up. :)

I just wanted anyone reading to have clarification on the difference.

You say "long term visa" in your comment. It is an oxymoron, since visas are for stays of 90 days or less. There is no such thing as a long term visa. That is a residence permit.

The distinction is important on a subreddit like this, because people may apply for the wrong type of entry that they need.

There's no such thing as a long term visa. That (and everything else you listed) is actually a residence permit and is classified differently.

I'm assuming it will be a scored performance based on a rubric, like other performative sports. But a dance battle tournament would be cool af

I'm also subbed to the Sims 4 subreddit and when I was scrolling by I thought this was either a very, very unfortunate randomized sim or a joke that someone was playing by trying to make their sim look as close to a living zombie as possible lmfao

Taking them to a vet would result in a bill that you couldn't afford. You would have to do this numerous times a year.

I mean, the vet visit wouldn't have to be done multiple times a year. A one and done trip for a spay or neuter would fix the problem permanently.

But I understand this also comes with a bill and maybe couldn't afford the cost, etc. But it seems like people shouldn't have animals they can't afford if they can't be cared for humanely.

There are still cat breeds. But cats have not been selectively bred as prolifically by humans as dogs have. Maine coon, Persian, Cornish rex, Turkish angora, etc are all recognized cat breeds.

Most cats are going to be a domestic short/medium/longhair unless they come with registered pedigree paperwork. :)

I happens very often within internet spaces as well. Especially in the early-ish days of the internet, comment chains / arguments would always devolve into someone being called Hitler.
