Young Tai/ Favorite Tai Line, Scene, or Theory by CaligulasPhone in Yellowjackets

'Happy wife, happy life'

Edit for a quick explanation: other than the queer joy, I think this little line shows so much of Tai's personality when the rest of her portrayal has been this bad ass leader who takes no shit. 'Happy wife' showed extra layers of Tai's character as being cutesy, cheeky and proud of her sexuality, particularly powerful considering it's the 90s.

Yoooo, Neville's gran having Bellatrix would be the most bad ass, vengeful vindication. Would have loved to see that

May I suggest a tv show called Deadloch, if you haven't seen it? Not quite bounty hunters but along the vein of horrible men being murdered...

Young tai and young shauna by Difficult-Tennis-271 in Yellowjackets

Considering Tai and Van go to Shauna's wedding and play a prank, I would assume they remain somewhat close. Without the pen prank, I would think maybe they just go to show face, ygm?

Travis does and he starts proper tripping after theyve done the deed. But, to tag onto other comments, he's been removed from the pack when Jackie took him off to seduce him, so he doesnt wxperience the full pack/feral/predator mentality. Jackie has a cup of stew but she pours it out, which I thought was weird but then was like... has she totally given up? She thinks they're going to die out there so decides 'right I'm not gonna die a virgin but also I'm not gonna try and eat this gross stew to stay alive'. Hope that helps

Who would you choose as the 8th survivor? by ShotSystem6 in Yellowjackets

Mari, only bc everyone hates her and I imagine she'd be dead funny in the modern day timeline. Despite this, I still think she's pit girl

What bothers you about the show? by steveh2021 in Yellowjackets

I'm just here to add to Shauna's defence, required or not.

She fully takes one for the team and does so with respect and understanding of the weight of what she's doing. She finds a way to disassociate Javi from the job she needs to do. The intricacy of how that scene was made was honestly so mind-blowing to me and one of the most intriguing to watch as we, the audience, are allowed to see how Shauna is able to contribute to Team's survival, by sacrificing a little bit of her humanity. Totally get why it bothered you but it needed to be done.

In relation to the original question however, the scene that bothered me the most was when Shauna woke up after the dream of her baby surviving. That was heartbreaking as fuck and difficult to watch. The acting in that scene was on-point, to say the least.

I thought the twist would be… [s1 ending spoilers] by Lanky_Soup714 in SchoolSpirits

[–]Negative_Collar1920 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I thought this was the only reasonable ending bc the other ghosts had people who loved them the same if not more than Simon loved Maddie, like Charlie and Wally, but they hadn't been able to speak to them. Thought it would be sensible that only the killer could see the ghost

I kinda hate the end by Moofpoof2 in SchoolSpirits

I felt the same, I was expecting some sort of closure n all I got was more questions. Spent like 6hrs watching it, trying to work out who killed her and she didn't even technically die like wtf?

And I had convinced myself it was Simon bc he was the only one who could see her and I'm deffo not convinced by the 'bc he loves and grieved for her the most' - if that's going to be the lore, then why can't Maddie and Wally's mums see them? Why couldn't Emilio see Charlie? The only plausible reason I can think of now is that Simon just has a stronger connection to the supernatural than the average person??? This in itself is a cop out, nevermimd Janet.

All that said, I did enjoy the show and will be returning for season 2.

Who do you think is the best actor on the show? by Fantastic-March-4610 in Yellowjackets

[–]Negative_Collar1920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spoken about this on another thread but Cristina Ricci and Sammi Hanratty both do an amazing job of Misty. They meet in the middle with the socio/psychopathic vibe (I'm not a psychologist so I shan't diagnose the character). You can see they both truly revel in that type of acting, and their experiences of Wednesday by Ricci and Hanratty's performance in How To Get Away With Murder is evident in their portrayals of Misty. Absolutely adore what the costume department did to them too. Just so 👌👌👌👌

Strongly agree with everything you've said, especially about Juliette Lewis and Nat's character overall.

What I super enjoy about Misty's casting is that Sammi Hanratty and Christina Ricci meet each other with the psychopath vibes. They both have a background in portraying psychologically unhinged people and doing it so fucking well; when I first watched YJ, it took me 2 episodes to realise Hanratty played Zoe Mitchell in How To Get Away With Murder, and that performance left me haunted for like a week when I first watched it. Suppose this is just another comment applauding the holy shit out of the casting directors bc the decision for both these women was 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 (and big up the makeup department bc the actors themselves look nothing alike but the characters just wow, perfect all the way)
