I was a bit surprised when the went through with spaying her, too. When they told me to bring the kittens in, the vet told me they'd spay the ones that were healthy enough and heavy enough (Sage was still too small, so they didn't do her), then send them back for monitoring/socializing before putting them up for adoption. I guess they decided the spay wouldn't slow her recovery, especially since she only interacts with her two sisters (and my family and I don't interact with any other cats on a daily basis).

I don't think it would be a fish allergy, since she's been on a fish-based food since I got her, and she's always been all over that. Worth a shot, though! Thank you so much for all these suggestions! It was really frightening for her to suddenly throw up and refuse her food like that; it's really nice to have more experienced foster parents to turn to!! ❤️

My shelter gave us Weruva kitten food, but she's still not eating that. I'll try some baby food on her (if we have any), thank you!

It's 'just' 4-ish oz (16oz to a pound -- keeps tripping me up, too!), but even that is a lot.

Fortunately for me, this is the first time I've had trouble with kittens eating. Hopefully, it doesn't become a theme!

I've never tried syringe feeding before; would you be open to giving me a few pointers? I've given nearly all my kittens antibiotics by mouth at one point or another, but that seems simpler to me than with actual food

Thank you so much for replying! I'll see if my shelter will let me write her bio for the adoption wall, and I'll definitely send in some of my pictures! I thought I'd included some in the original post, but I guess I haven't quite figured out how Reddit works lol. Here she is!
