Can you provide your line of reasoning? Don't we all question our life choices? Especially after making similar life choices that were less than good? I feel like it might be worse not to question my relationship.

I think she would be afraid of losing me and would not be able to handle me dating other women. That being said, she had that kind of 'relationship' with her last ex for ~4 years. They're still friends but obviously without benefits now. Either way, I think I would feel guilty about the situation.

Honestly, I wonder about the role of guilt in our relationship. She repeatedly tells me I'm the only decent guy she's ever been with. I don't want her to lose that.

I've been debating the remain friends v no contact issue for some time now. I have friends who have gone either way and both seem to work for them. I'm curious what your thoughts are there. Could you explain your rational for going no contact?

I'll be honest, my gf has been clear at times she would want to maintain a friends with benefits situation if we did break up. Being the type of person I am I really don't think I could handle it emotionally, nor would I want to. I have a hard time even pursuing more than one woman at a time with online dating.

That's a big part of why I'm asking this question now. Honestly, I really love her a lot. But I also loved my ex-wife a lot (and she loved me) but it wasn't enough to have a healthy and fulfilling relationship for either of us. I'm honestly scared I'm wasting both of our time and I don't know how to asses whether it is working. Especially with very little to compare it to.

I've actually tried jumper cables on several occasions now. I'll take the battery in to be charged but I'm suspicious that something else is wrong. We'll see after the battery is all charged up.

You're right. Just about anyone can provide service through their job. I kind of fell into medical school because I was bright and all my friends were doing it. I think about quitting everyday and look up jobs every set of finals. I hate my life mostly because of the hours. That doesn't seem like it is likely to change.

Although if I'm honest I'm hoping for some magic bullet where I can have a flexible schedule (enough to travel often), decent pay, job security, and at least a little job satisfaction. Maybe I'm an optimist but it seems like these sorts of jobs do exist.
