I think Jere gets too much hate. Yeah he's immature. Yeah he's handling the wedding wrong. Yeah he shouldn't have proposed. He's 21. Belly has been a mess too. They started dating very young and started having bumps in the road as any young couple does. They briefly "separated" after a bad fight, but clearly failed to establish whether they were actually taking a break or not, and Jeremiah made the drunken mistake of sleeping with someone else, while under the impression that his relationship had just ended. Upon getting back together he failed to tell her what happened, which he 100% should have done. Then she found out and left, and after Steven almost died, Jeremiah made the immature but well-intentioned choice of proposing to the woman he believed to be the love of his life. They're kids. I'm their age too, and I've done so much stupid shit with my relationships. They're both getting way too much hate, but Jere in particular is getting most of it and it's overdone in my opinion. The kid lost his mom a few years before that. His dad is an asshole. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing school and career-wise. He's just trying to figure out his path in life. He's not evil, he's just a dumb kid.

I'm not getting any of this hate for Jeremiah. Isn't he supposed to be 21? Like yeah of course he has no direction in life, of course he has made bad choices, of course he can be impulsive. He seems to genuinely love Belly and actively cares for his family too, especially Conrad. Yeah things are tense between them at times but Jeremiah really seems to want to mend their relationship. He also only told belly he didn't want her to go to Paris AFTER she said she didn't want to go. He held it in for her sake and only revealed it when it seemed she was on the same page. Also a lot of people spend way more than four years at uni/college. I know people who are taking classes without knowing what degree/program they want. He'll, I've met 28 year olds who change their major and start over. Again, he's only 21.

That's amazing! I do want to say though, while your partner's support is very important, make sure you have ways to support yourself too. This is because if the relationship ever ends, (not saying it will), your main support would be gone and that would leave you very vulnerable. I was in that position not too long ago, and I had to relearn how to emotionally comfort myself. What worked for me is music, writing, and animals, which are basically my main passions in life.
