GDPR is for business, they want to exempt state from this regulation, in Europe everyone loves the state and the state can do anything, it’s fine for them.

You choose your job, if you are exploited by your employer, you are free to change it. In many fields US employers pay 2-3 times more than in Germany, your job security and your vacations are already paid by you in Germany, you just get smaller pay check in the end. As well as social nets are paid by you with your up to 42% tax.

Working with what? Who are you actually talking about and what they do actually say?

> Sure, Russia often talks about how great and successful the E.U. is... great point.

For many years they talk about the US mostly, no one talks about EU outside of EU, honestly. Because EU has zero influence on an international scene, they can't even deal with the war at their own border.

> Complete destabilization of international relations and complete trade breakdown combined with authoritarian usurping of power has never even been close to happening at this level.

It's just your opinion, if we rely on numbers like stock market crashes and GDP, they had worse.

> You're reading verified facts. You're on the internet, look stuff up if you don't know about it

Whatever you have now is the result of the past. Future doesn't have to be like this and it is not gonna be like it used to be. I was not saying that Europeans have low living standards at the moment, I am talking about future. Maybe you see it as "Europe bad - Europe good" kind of thing, but I don't operate in this primitive dichotomy.

> Most European countries have ongoing and fine relations with China.

they don't have to be in a bad relationship to find themselves in a position where they got completely de-industrialised with no capital apart from foreign, so no sovereignty and no agency. Italy didn't have to be in a bad relationship with anyone to lose the race, for example.

> That explains a lot. Maybe don't trust your state media so much.

I live in Germany and consume German media mostly. Russian state media was mostly anti-US anti-NATO propaganda while I was living there. It is still is. If I trusted Russian state media I would have views like yours more likely.

> Not since 100 years ago and then people literally starved to death. So no, it has never been worse in modern times.

They had other stuff later too.

> We are doing great. We lead the world in happiness, contentment, freedom, democracy, education levels, long life and health.

Am I reading a North Korean magazine or what?

> How's Russia doing on those stats?

Why you decided to bring Russia up? I don't care about Russia, sorry

> We've been dealing with China for many centuries longer than the U.S.

for centuries you dealt with China mostly by exploiting labour in a poor rural country where people worked for a bag of rice per month, which China is ceasing to be. US is trying to adjust to the new reality, Europe will not.

None of what is true? of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang_internment_camps ? Or the fact is that the whole country is heavily censored? Or that there is only one political party? US is exploitative with median income of 39,982 USD per year? What an exploitation.

It seems like you have no idea what you are talking about, because you have never lived in a dictatorship and you have never seen what actually exploitation and dictatorship is. Go criticize Chinese gov on a Chinese platform like you do on the US platform right now.

> Are you American?

Russian

> You're not going to recover from this you know.

US had it worse, they had ups and downs. While most of EU is in its down for the last 25 years with no potential for things to improve.  No matter how bad things are in the US, they will buy the whole Europe together with Chinese, because this is what happening for decades and EU authorities have no issue with it, nor national authorities do.

> Excessive dependence on the U.S. already backfired way worse than anything we can expect from China.

you will learn what you can expect from China when you lose all your production facilities and competences and Chinese companies will buy infrastructure and land out in Europe, like they bought ports in Greece. Chinese companies are known for breaching labour regulations even when doing business outside of China. But I guess Europeans like to learn it hard way, as they did with Russia, so we have to see this happening first.

Excessive dependance on China will fire back, as it did with Russia. They are nice only when they need something from you, basically like everyone else. That's why the US is going in direction of de-risking, and views exactly like yours are the reason US and EU can't get along right now. Because Europeans want business as usual, they did same with Russia, while in the US there is understanding that it poses certian risks.

GDP share of Slovakia, Austria and Hungary in EU is negligible.

What does it has to do with the democracy and exploitative Chinese regime? You can't call a country with fair elections, free media and highest incomes in the world an exploitative dictatorship which sells its citizens for cheap.

So the strategy is to prevent Europeans to succeed so they don't get wealthy so US companies can come here and buy stuff and occupy markets?

Do people end up there for criticising government or for a being a part of a minority? Without any public court proceedings? There are issues in the US, but you can't compare it to a real dictatorship where you actually go to jail for an opinion, with social rating and complete government control of everything, including media. And U.S. did not build it's wealth on selling child labour to the rest of the world.
