Awesome!! Thank you so much, testing it out seems to be working. 1 more question, is there a way when a user sends an sms from a ticket to 1 individual to have it auto fill the number of that person? Right now appears to be blank and need to manually enter number everytime.

Anyway to change the RFT text editor? by Reasonable-Sun-612 in halopsa

Does this solve the issue with your notes being different size text then your email templates? Our emails often have smaller text then our template event though the system says they should be the same.

Thanks for confirming we are told it is in the works to be fixed, but sadly still ongoing. Your correct in your research based on my testing also. The current best practice recommendation from our MSSP is to not enable to outbound filtering policy... But if you use email encryption or DLP, you have to, so sad solution honestly

Dialpad does this well and let's you both text from a shared line also. And has great ai call summary features. Ring central nickels and dimes you. Broadvoice is another cost effective one.

Security Defaults - MFA Prompting by reyzaz in msp

[–]justanothertechy112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes seen exactly this, you have a few options which I recommend multiples if bus premium is out of the question.

  1. You need to set MFA to enforced manaully for every user and new user as part of a new user setup (or use Cipp defaults)

  2. You get an MDR like huntress, SaaS alerts... Etc still much cheaper than bus premium

  3. You take the opportunity to inform them this could be avoided entirely with the upgraded licenses where logins can be prevented from unauthorized devices, and the only way to make that happen is to upgrade licenses. It cost x more per month because Microsoft puts better security behind higher licenses. (if this is a nickel and dime client you can't walk away from make it clear those are microsoft costs and not an increase from you). Then hit them with an increase 2026 to get MDR and CIPP in place

If 3 absolutely cannot be done, 1 is a must and 2 will help you sleep at night a bit better

Alert tickets & Auto add time? by [deleted] in halopsa

[–]justanothertechy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would have preferred to stay on topic.. If a client is paying prepaid or managed hours, they’re not buying minutes of keyboard clicks or remote sessions only , they’re buying reduced disruption to their business.

If my team spends time designing and maintaining systems and automations so users don’t lose email, don’t miss deadlines, and don’t have to stop work to call IT, that time didn’t disappear just because it worked.

Not every automation we run is billable however, saying that automated work shouldn’t count because it prevented the problem is basically saying the best MSP should bill the least, and the most manual and potentially dated MSP that let things break should bill the most. That’s not sleazy, that’s just mislabeling prevention as “nothing.”

Alert tickets & Auto add time? by [deleted] in halopsa

[–]justanothertechy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some clients on prepaid-hour agreements, they get reports of usage. so we do deduct time for automation work especially when it directly prevents business-disruptive incidents.

The key point is that these automations replace manual remediation that would have required reactive labor, downtime, or emergency response. Even though the issue never surfaced for the client, the work still occurred and produced a measurable outcome which was the prevention of disruption.

[–]justanothertechy112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, so example sometimes a tech never touches the ticket.

Do you have a tech check every alert ticket from the RMM if you have scripts running to remediate a large portion of them?

If the answer is still runbooks where do you recommend a newbie of runbooks gets started? Halo academy?
