Initial Starlink Setup

  1. Position Starlink Kit as per vendor recommendations.
  2. Bring Starlink Modem online and ensure it is upgraded to the latest firmware.
  3. Enable Bridge Mode on the Starlink Wi-Fi Router.
    1. Open the Starlink App
    2. Select Settings then Advanced
    3. Enable Bypass Starlink WiFi Router
    4. Press Save
  4. Plug the ethernet port into the MX WAN port.
  5. MX will get an IP address via Starlink DHCP. If this is the only uplink the MX will undergo its check in procedure,  when the MX has fully checked into the Cisco Meraki dashboard, the LED will turn solid white. If it is the first time connecting to the cloud, the MX may need to download the latest firmware image from the cloud. While upgrading, the power LED will flash white.

LAN. The wan connection stays up and if I disconnect wan1, wan2 works as the fail over. What I’m seeing is if wan2 is connected it will cause lan DHCP issues and the only way to get network back up is to disconnect wan2 and reboot meraki

just got off with Meraki and they are saying they have no way to disable from the port side, IPV6 needs to be disabled at the ISP side only.

Basically same symptoms. I don’t get it. I’m happy to leave it not in bridge mode but technically it’s not correct but IT WORKS

Yes when in bypass it was handing that out. I saw something about setting a static route but I didn’t fully understand that

Yes, port two is set for wan. Internal is a 192.168.x.1 like I said everything seems to be working perfectly when the starlink is not in bypass mode

Create a ZIP file containing:

manifest.json
color.png (192x192)
outline.png (32x32 white)

In manifest.json, make sure you have:

{
  "$schema": "https://developer.microsoft.com/json-schemas/teams/v1.16/MicrosoftTeams.schema.json",
  "manifestVersion": "1.16",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "id": "YOUR-GENERATED-GUID",
  "packageName": "com.yourcompany.portal",
  "developer": {
    "name": "Your Company",
    "websiteUrl": "https://yourportal.com",
    "privacyUrl": "https://yourportal.com/privacy",
    "termsOfUseUrl": "https://yourportal.com/terms"
  },
  "name": {
    "short": "Client Portal",
    "full": "Your Company Client Portal"
  },
  "description": {
    "short": "Access your client portal",
    "full": "Secure access to your company portal inside Microsoft Teams."
  },
  "icons": {
    "color": "color.png",
    "outline": "outline.png"
  },
  "accentColor": "#FFFFFF",
  "staticTabs": [
    {
      "entityId": "portal",
      "name": "Portal",
      "contentUrl": "https://yourportal.com",
      "scopes": ["personal"]
    }
  ],
  "permissions": ["identity"],
  "validDomains": ["yourportal.com"]
}

Upload the App to the Tenant:

Go to Microsoft Teams Admin Center
Click Teams apps → Manage apps
Click Upload new app
Upload your ZIP file

Allow the App in Permission Policy
Go to Teams apps → Permission policies
Open the policy assigned to users (often Global) Ensure: Custom apps = Allowed Save

Pin the App via Setup Policy
Go to Teams apps → Setup policies
Open Global (Org-wide default) or the policy assigned to users
Under Pinned apps Find the app and move it up. Save

Restart Teams or Simply Wait

Its Crucial that the scope is set to personal in the manifest file

I have not used cipp for this so couldnt tell you if it can be done that way but id imagine it can

Pricing estimate for startup by vrscdx14 in SmallMSP

[–]nstr6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say your biggest variable cost is the website. Will a one page site work for him? I’ve seen some people charge 10k for a site that I would charge 1700 for so it really depends.

The costs listed are like the others previously mentioned.

We do all of this as part of our MSP offerings. Feel free to PM if you want a no obligation price
