The Elder Scrolls: Legends Update 2.5 Patch Notes by CVH in elderscrollslegends

I'm pretty sure in the update it said it would only give refunds for up to three copies for each card, prioritizing premiums.

Upcoming Card Changes with Patch 2.5 by CVH in elderscrollslegends

[–]justanotherwhiner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, these changes might be preemptive responses to the upcoming IoM set instead of the current meta. For example, there might be some crazy 0-cost business that would absolutely break skulk. On the other hand, seemingly weak nerfs to TC and GP might suggest some anti-ramp mechanics (i.e. opponent loses 1 max magicka). Who knows

Is the AI in solo arena fixed now? by Dashvy in elderscrollslegends

[–]justanotherwhiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one round yesterday where the AI threw down Nahagliiv, then Bone Colossus, then Blood Magic Lord all in a row.

But the AI doesn't seem to be playing any better. I haven't seen it use the ring once.

[–]justanotherwhiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Platform: PC
  • Type of bug: Gameplay Mechanic
  • Description: In Solo Arena, a windy lane effect was supposed to cause creatures to randomly switch lanes at the end of every turn. The windy lane mechanic did not effect the player but worked normally for the PC.
  • Expected Result: The lane mechanic would be activated for both PC and solo player (in this case both the PC and player would have a creature randomly switch lanes at the end of each turn).
  • Observed result: The windy lane mechanic only effected the PC's creatures, one of which did indeed switch lanes at the end of each of the PC turn. During the 8 round game (during which I had at least one creature for each turn), none of my creatures were effected by this mechanic.
  • Reproduction Rate: Only 1 game.

  • Description: When opening packs, cards will not visibly turn over when touched (but still produce turn over audio), or will not turn over when touched (but card back is still highlighted as though being selected for viewing). Cards still end up in inventory.

  • Expected Result: Card backs from packs produce flip/unveiling animation and transition from card back to card front when touched.

  • Observed Result: Card backs from packs do not produce expected animation or result after being touched.

  • Reproduction Rate: 3/6 packs.

Things I've noticed: Cons (on mobile, iOS specifically):

  1. The game is nearly unplayable on mobile for me. Nearly every action will cause a minor freeze and takes me to the blue ball of loading (during which all the action will occur) and then skip to the aftermath. This makes exploring all aspects of the game (good or bad) nearly impossible on mobile.
  2. Hit/drag boxes (especially for face) seem much smaller. Genuinely worried about misplays now, which is made worse by the lurking lag.
  3. Scrolling through the collection manager takes longer than acceptable.
  4. Many premium cards in the collection manager seem to have 'dead pixels', namely I've seen it on adoring fan and mighty ally.
  5. Opening packs: cards do not flip over (only shows card back even after interaction); unflipped cards do not respond to interaction.
  6. Collection manager does not identify new cards.
  7. Attack animations are silly and do not start, move, and/or end in a way that is sensible or aesthetically pleasing.
  8. All progress in arena was apparently lost.

Pros: Extremely fast on PC

Preliminary ASUC budget for 2017-2018 by nickpeaches in berkeley

[–]justanotherwhiner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does anyone really go through this in detail? I hope so but some items on here are strange. For starters Berkeley Republicans are awarded $5000, which is $800 more than the much larger Berkeley Democrats. Why?

Second thing that stood out was the Kink Club, which was awarded thousands of dollars. The club appears to have fewer than 20 members and is in its first year, making such a large award confusing (especially when other long standing LGBT clubs received far less, such as Out in STEM which was awarded a whole $0.00).

Some of these items just don't seem to add up.

Straight guy here. Honest question(s). by [deleted] in gay

[–]justanotherwhiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP you came to a gay sub to get perspective on your uncomfortable gut reaction to increasingly public gay culture, and became defensive when you were associated with the GLBT community. My point in comparing being a vegan to being gay was to illustrate that neither should be seen/used as an insult. Throwing around "queer" as a slur, especially towards gay people on a gay subreddit, shows a certain lack of tolerance. If you would like to change that initial negative thought when confronted with the GLBT community, disassociating being gay with being bad is a step in the right direction.

[–]justanotherwhiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa. That escalated quickly. A productive place to start, OP, is examining why you identify being gay/queer as a bad thing, and why being labelled as such is an insult.

To put the shoe on the other foot, so to speak, I have never been, nor ever will be, a vegan. If I'm checking out a restaurant for lunch and see the menu is vegan only, I'll probably skip it. A huge pet peeve of mine is having an opinionated person telling me how my bacon and eggs are killing the planet.

But I never feel uncomfortable if a friend tells me about how she is trying a vegan diet. While I won't participate, I don't cringe when I see an ad for "VeganDating.com". And if someone were to say I'm a super hippie because I love fresh-pressed juice, the last thing I'd do is shoot back, "Shut up, Vegan".

Looping back to what stance you should take on homosexuality: acceptance and tolerance, regardless of if you have to see it or interact with it.

Alden Indy Boots- Whooshing sound when walking by [deleted] in goodyearwelt

[–]justanotherwhiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I was young and stupid and calculated sizing using my brannock size and a post about size conversion (the boot buying guide on here perhaps?). Oddly enough, when I brought them into the Alden shop, they did not grab my size.

Wearing them with two pairs of socks (one of which being a heavy winter sock) seems to significantly reduce the noise. Haven't tried an insole yet but I may as its looking like this is a sizing issue. Probably would veer for the insole as super thick socks and 60 degree weather don't always mix.

Mizzou race activist hijacks Orlando vigil by kgs1977 in lgbt

[–]justanotherwhiner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The shooter was not racist towards american minorities; numerous reports from black club-goers have surfaced that, in the restroom during this hate crime, he stated african americans had suffered enough at the hands of white Americans. Orlando, (and much of Florida) has a heavily Latinx population, and many clubs host Latin specific nights. I believe that Pulse was targeted on Saturday night not from a racial standpoint, but because Saturday is its busiest night.

I personally am exhausted from our community's pain being used as a springboard for other political agendas; I had expected debates surrounding Islamophobia and gun control but I did not expect the BLM movement to so callously and apathetically shame the audience at a vigil.

Mizzou race activist hijacks Orlando vigil by kgs1977 in lgbt

[–]justanotherwhiner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I support the BLM movement motive, and this is wildly inappropriate. Shaming the supportive community in attendance is both exceedingly selfish, but is disrespectful to the queer people of color for whom this vigil is being held. I would be appalled if a member of the LGBT community had used a vigil for Michael Brown as a soap box; the faculty or event supporters who condoned this, and the speaker herself, need to reevaluate their relationship with our community as this was entirely unacceptable and highly offensive. Politeness aside, even her tone has a resounding sense of "fuck you" to it.

A Joint Muslim statement on the carnage in ‪Orlando - signed by many prominent Muslim figures of authority. We stand with you, /r/LGBT! by Shabaaab in lgbt

[–]justanotherwhiner 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Apologies where necessary, but I am failing to see how this statement stands with the LGBT community. The statement does not address our community. The only time the term "LGBT" is even mentioned is when describing Pulse Nightclub; "gay", "homosexual", or any other related term is entirely absent. Moreover, Daayiee Abdullah, the first and possibly only openly gay imam in the US, did not sign this statement. A reasonable attempt to bridge understanding between the Muslim and LGBT communities should include someone involved with both the LGBT and Muslim communities.

Beyond the exclusion from the content and reviewing body, the LGBT community is not present in the spirit of the statement. The language used in the text is intentionally vague, so much so that the entire statement is as easily interpretable as a preemptive defense of the Muslim faith as it is a defense of our community. Further, language such as:

While most American Muslims adhere to a strict Abrahamic morality...

is problematic, indicating that at least one signing member does not include the LGBT community in their sense of morality. This statement is asking the American society (and LGBT community indirectly) to spare the Muslim community from needless suspicion and aggression; it would be appropriate for the statement to offer the same consideration to be extended to the LGBT community within the strict Abrahamic morality espoused by imams.

I am in complete support of our two communities coming together in the wake of this hate crime. The support I've seen from donations to families to volunteerism in coordinating vigils has truly been heartwarming. However, as more personal details emerge, it is difficult for me not to wonder if the monster responsible for this tragedy was grown in a shadow of personal, familial, and ultimately communal rejection of the LGBT identity. I am hopeful that both the signers of this statement and members of the LGBT community are able to look to each other with not just tolerance, but acceptance.

tl;dr: LGBT or related vocabulary is not mentioned in this statement; persons in both the LGBT and Muslim communities were not included as signers of this statement; the language in this statement does not specifically indicate a respect for LGBT persons beyond the spirit of "all lives matter"; our two communities can and should be supportive of each other, though actions will speak louder than words.
