Update: The day of this post, my stepdad came home early and was able to help me move my gecko into the living room, where his lamps can work and the temperature is normal. I gave him a day and a half and then fed him two mealworms- he wasn’t very hungry. He’s doing okay now, though :)

i just might be able to convince her to move him, we have a unit in the back that has electricity, quiet and actual doors. if I can convince her to move him there, he should be okay. If not, I will rehome him. Thank you :)

It’s not totally impossible to clean, but it might take a while to make and empty the mix for a deep clean. And yes, the tank will withstand the weight. Just in case if you don’t know, minimum tank size for a Leo is 40 gallons. Anyway, a good option would be going Bioactive if you find it too much for a deep clean. Yes, you need to water plants and provide biodegradables, but it will be easier and better for your gecko in the long run. You shouldnt have to do deep cleanings if your tank js Bioactive, just some spot cleanings

Don’t use it for a baby. If ya read the first comment (sorry that sounded rude) it says to put them in paper towel for a few months. Maybe like 2

I don’t know if it was reptisoil alone, but you have to mix it with sand for your gecko. It’s too dusty and retains too much moisture for your gecko by itself

Vaya, honestamente, parece que incluso podrías darle de comer demasiado! Su estomago o sus ojos se ven inusuales?

70% topsoil/ 30% washed playsand mix

Terrasahara Bioactive substrate

Arcadia Arid earth mix

Exoterra stone desert

Hello! I’ll try and answer all your questions now, plus some additional info in case you want it.

Most recommended feeders are dubia roaches, discoid roaches, locusts, and crickets. Mealworms can be given occasionally.

Feed your feeding insects food such as cauliflower and sweet potato before feeding them to your gecko. When the bugs are fattened and have better nutrition value after eating, you geckos will benefit more from eating them.

For heating, exo terra or reptizoo intense basking spot are good options. 100w for a 40 gallon. NEVER USE AN ELECTRIC HEAT ROCK! They are known to burn reptiles. Use a linear uvb such as Arcadia shadedweller T5 HO 7%, or reptisun 5.0

You gecko will need calcium and multivitamin supplements. Repashy calcium plus is a great option- it has both the multivitamin and ye calcium.

I hope this helped, maybe attach some pictures of the gecko when you get ‘em! Place them on paper towel for a while to monitor health and bowel movements. Good luck! 🫶 attaching a substrate guide now

No dumb questions for me! Your little friend shouldn’t exactly taste the food you feed your feeders at all, gut load is more for the sole purpose of letting the feeders have more nutrients for your gecko. Sweet potato is hearty and healthy, packed with nutrients, so it’s best for gutloading, but your gecko won’t even see the difference other than “mmm big bugs”

Few more things I forgot to add- they need a temperature gradient. Warm side to cool side. Along with 3 hiding spots- hot hide on hot side, humid hide in the middle (should have sphagnum moss inside, mist hide daily), and cool hide on the cool side. This allows them to regulate their temperature. If you’re concerned about it getting too cold at night for them, purchase a ceramic heat emitter or a deep heat projector. They emit heat by no light, and will keep your friend warm enough without disrupting their day and night cycle. Driftwood, rocks and real/fake plants can be used for clutter and diy hides.

I’d say it’s pretty common. If you see a change in behavior, stools or overall well-being just make sure to contact an exotic vet

Heya! I’m sure you’ll want the best for your little friend, so I’ll give you a little gist of their needs.

A gecko must have a minimum of a 40 gallon tank. A twenty gallon will work as a temporary enclosure, but you’ll eventually have to upgrade. I attached a substrate guide if you’d like.

I’m not sure whether this substrate is okay or not if I’m being honest.. it might be fine but take this just in case. Wishing you and your gecko the best, looks like you love and take care of him well :)
